U.S.S. Exodus
Exodus runs every Friday, 21:00 GMT. <=- !!
Spots is the owner of the ship and main GM of the ship.
The U.S.S. Exodus NCC-92131-A is a Starfleet Excelsior class vessel, refitted and upgraded to the newest standards of Federation technology, featuring a unique (alien) A.I. known as Exodus, or Pulsar.
She recently got a Resolute class stardrive section as an upgrade and now runs with her full crew complement of 750 people.
Standing orders prohibit children and assimilated persons from coming onboard, so there are no families or civilians on this ship regularly.
All decks are fitted with holographic technology, allowing the A.I. to project herself in hallways and rooms.
On Exodus, we use the Pandora bridge. Going around it, we have these stations:
There is no rule about where any character has to be when we start an episode!!
You're welcome to come up with a rough idea about what your character could be doing when the episode starts, and then just start anywhere you want - as long as it is on the ship. You can also start an episode off duty if you want your character's private life to be a bit more in the spotlight, no problem. Or in sickbay, visiting the doctor. Or on the holodeck. If you start on the bridge, you now know where you work.
Crew Roster
In the following list I will include typical career paths you will find in the respective departments onboard Exodus, to give you an idea what your character could be excellent in, and what else would or could be his or her tasks onboard. It can help you raise your hand or jump into action when certain keywords fall, as well.
Keep in mind that it is not common that a character would be trained in more than one specialty, with the exception of extremely longliving species (like joined Trill). Usually there is a basic understanding of the rest of the tasks of his or her department, but extensive training and knowledge needs a lot of time to build up and so can usually only be achieved in one of the fields or means a very high character age.
Crew slots can also be filled by characters using Enlisted ranks, by the way!
In that case, your character never went through Starfleet Academy to become an Officer and just started out as a crewman.
Rank list for Enlisted is as follows:
Crewman (Recruit), Crewman (Apprentice), Crewman, Petty Officer 3rd Class, PO 2nd Class, PO 1st Class, Chief Petty Officer*, Senior Chief Petty Officer*, Master Chief Petty Officer*, and the special case of a Warrant Officer*.
The first two would not see action on the Exodus. Recruits are trained on Earth, Apprentices are not yet fit for the dangerous stuff.
Ranks marked with an asterisk (*) are considered Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO) and are typically second in command to officers.
Chief Petty Officer Miles Edward O'Brian is a well known one, he invested his time in extended specialized training instead of the academy and much later became an academy teacher instead of ranking up to officer.
We don't always have to be Officers to shine brightly.
Standard Navy ranks for Commissioned Officers apply, meaning we have:
Captain, Commander, Lieutenant Commander, Lieutenant, Lieutenant Junior Grade and Ensign to pick from.
In the following I will put the usual rank used for an open slot in its line, to give you an idea of what we seek.

Each department can have and should have crewmembers. For one its nice to have a stand-in if the Chief doesn't show up, plus it's easier to get into rp when two people discuss the same problem to find a solution ICly. It's about the ship RP, not only the bridge RP.
