TAL SHIAR LISTENING POST
ROMULAN SPACE
0145 LOCAL TIME
The Romulan continued his foot patrol, questioning why he joined the Tal Shiar in the first place. He had thought that with the resurgence, he’d be out fighting the Federation and restoring the glory and honor of the Romulan Star Empire. Instead, he was here, watching the small craft in a listening post. What happened to fighting for the future of the Empire? Now the Tal Shiar was almost gone, destroyed by the Federation and her puppet government.
That will change soon, at least that’s what his subaltern said this morning. They were getting ready for a major offensive, one that could change the tide of battle back in favour of their glorious cause. The soldier smiled slightly, dreaming of the time…what’s that? As he rounded a corner he noticed one of the shuttles didn’t look right. He lifted his disruptor slightly, even though he knew that any ship in this lot was powered down and part of this listening post’s fleet. He walked closer, and realized that the craft was in fact a Federation shuttlecraft. When did we capture that? he wondered, walking up to the front of the ship. It was a small shuttle, couldn’t be very long range. As he came to the front, he realized he could see inside. Someone must have left the light on. He walked closer, then did a double take.
A Federation officer sat in the pilot’s seat, a Tal Shiar officer held at phaser point in the copilot’s seat. The soldier tried to bring his disrupter to bear, but he was too late. The shuttle accelerated, knocking the soldier to the ground as the ship speed off into the night’s sky.
