Adriana Whitlock, MD, PsyD
University of Chicago Medical School '68 (74th of 312)
Specialties in xenophysiology, human internal medicine
Overview:
Adriana Whitlock joined Starfleet Medical just at the outset of the Dominion War. Once an above average, though enthusiastic and idealistic doctor, Whitlock worked under conditions that made her one of the top combat physicians of the war, though a more cynical and sarcastic one.
In the years that followed, her duties included assisting on the diplomatic mission to Romulus following Shinzon's coup and defeat, professorships at Starfleet Medical and at a medical school on Qo'nos, and tours of duty on several exploration missions.
In 2409, Whitlock was assigned as the CMO for Admiral Colby Thompson's fleet. This tour ended with the loss and recovery of the USS Kryptonite in Undine space. She was assigned to the support team on Bajor following the 2800 incident at Deep Space Nine.
In 2411, Whitlock accepted the CMO position on the USS Avalon.
Combat competencies
Whitlock is competent with small arms, and is proficient with the lirpa, which she learned from a Vulcan master.
Personal
Whitlock was born in 2342, the second of three children of John Whitlock (2310-2381) and Emma Whitlock (nee Hammerstein, 2311-). Her mother currently lives in Portland, Maine, where runs a quilt shop. Her sister, Anita (2340-2401), was a programmer and cyberneticist with the Daystrom Institute. Her brother, Alex (2345-), is an oceanographer and a mechanical engineer, currently working in the North Atlantic Biosphere project in the Laurentian Abyssal, Earth.
Whitlock has married twice. She met her first husband, Gabe Stevens (2341-2411), while both were pre-med students at the University of Chicago. They married in 2365 while in their first years at U of C Medical School. Following graduation, both moved to San Francisco, where both applied to Starfleet. The politics of the Dominion War led to cracks in their relationship, however. Stevens left Starfleet in protest over the martial law declaration. They remained together until an amicable separation in 2374, when Whitlock was deployed to Betazed. The marriage was fully dissolved in 2375.
Whitlock's met her second husband, Torvald Henrikson (2350-), while visiting her sister at Memory Alpha in 2385. Henrikson, also a doctor, was the medical administrator of the facility. The two married in 2386, traveling and serving together on the hospital ship, U.S.S. Lavoisier. In 2389, Whitlock accepted her first fellowship to the Klingon Medical Academy, while Henrikson took a position as an administrator in the Regulus system. During this time, while they visited as frequently as possible, Henrikson's used the separation to engage in multiple affairs, one of which he deliberately leaked to Whitlock to gain a divorce in 2392. Henrikson is currently the Adjutant to the Admiral for Medical Personnel, Starfleet Medical.
Whitlock has no children.
Trivia
After returning from Betazed to recover from her own injuries, and to finalize her divorce, Whitlock was in San Francisco during the Breen attack. During this event, she delivered Jason Hunter.
