Governor Ka'rel's Log
106th day of the year of Kah'less 1040
It is done. The formal ceremony for my installation as Governor was as grand a celebration as it could be, considering that few in my house are thrilled with the assignment. The thought of living out my days, seeing to administrative matters of city and colony, rather than pushing forth the front lines, fills my heart with sorrow. Yet, I have been given the charge of defending this sector, and that I shall do to the end of my abilities and my life. Here, I can further build the strength of my house and give my son the chances for the glory that I may never see.
My new (groan) advisor, G'dan, informs me that a ship belonging to the House of Karag may have been seen in Deferi space. I'm unsure as to why he thought I should care about the mere possibility that one of his house should reappear. If they had any sense, they'd either stay in the Delta Quadrant or return to rush headlong at the Iconians. The freedom of the stars. Death in battle. That's what I would advise of my old friend.
At least G'dan presented me an opportunity to inform him that Karag's name must never be mentioned in the presence of my wife. G'dan is an officious sort, but I have no interest in seeing him skewered. Yet.
In addition to the ships and warriors from the 1st Imperial Defense Fleet, I have called on my personal squadron to continue serving the House here in Archanis. These ships and crews have seen me through many challenges, and their experience will be needed to train the next generations of warriors.
The remainder of the House fleet, including I.K.S. mupwI'nach, will continue to represent the House in the Third Fleet and elsewhere. May they bring themselves and the House honor.
