Each week, I'll be posting my Roleplayer of the Week. This prestigious accolade is given to someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty in their roleplay, or makes me shit myself because I'm laughing so hard at a one liner. Each person will be given ten points, and the monthly winner (in the event of not a tie) will be announced somewhere.

Well, another week has come and gone, and it's time to announce this weeks Roleplayer of the Week! boy did we have some good performances too! Kiso's portrayal of the Second Officer out of his depth, Stryker's murder of an innocent civilian on the main viewer, and all the rest of the great RP that was conducted. However, one performance stands out above the rest. This past Avalon, I tried something new and introduced guest players to the plot. They were given a name, a job, and told to impress me. Those players succeeded beyond my wildest hopes and dreams, but there was a performance that had me litterally fall out of my seat laughing. Spots, (@vitas33), take a bow. Your portrayal of the senile, grouchy Floa honest to god made me role on the floor laughing. That character surpassed everything anyone could expect, and I'm looking forward to what you do in the future. Ten points to Spots!
Everyone, Sunday starts a new RP week. I know I won't see every bit of awesomeness, but if I see it, it'll be mentioned. Have fun!

Thanks so much!
I'm glad you enjoyed Floa's antics, and I hope other people did, too. It's a fine line between being colorful and being obnoxious, and I look forward to his continuing grumpventures.

Sadly, this week I wasn't able to get on much, so I'm sure there's a lot of great roleplaying I missed. With that in mind, this is my award show, so nyah.
This week presented the intrepid crew of the U.S.S. Avalon with a fight for survival and a race against the clock. In such a situation, it's hard to decide what to do, especially with a GM throwing lots of stuff at you without reprieve. Everyone delivered a stellar performance, but one stood out to me. In the middle of trying to figure out why their runabout crashed, Captain Logica decided to quote the odds of successfully navigating an asteroid field. I mean seriously, who quotes C-3PO? I mean like, ever? Well done. @geralynrhig, +10 points for you. Huzzah!

Did she correctly point out that the odds given by C3PO were actually very good odds and not as dire as he made them to be?

No, but quoting C-3PO at all made the act award worthy. And I'm not Steve Harvey, so what I say goes

Yay, I got points! ^.^ Funny, though, the quote just kind of popped into my head the moment I knew an asteroid field was involved. Glad people got a chuckle out of it.

So, since this started in the middle of June, there is no winner for the month of June. Contestants will be added to the July list.
This week is coming to a close (yay!), and with that it's time to announce the Roleplayer of the Week! I saw a lot of good roleplay this week. Characters responding to situations that forced them to react in ways that weren't necessarily expected, getting forced into roles outside their comfort zones, and plenty of good one liners. But this week's winner gets it for an exceptional use of improvising an NPC and allowing me to advance plot. Flynt, for your exceptional use of a grumpy Tellerite and giving me the chance to have bad guys shoot at good guys, take ten points!

Sorry folks, it was a busy weekend, so I'm just now getting around to this.
So anyway, this week's RPOTW is being awarded not on a humorous note, but out of recognition for being an outstanding sport. When Avalon's captain ordered Counselor Limi to stay behind I was concerned that it wouldn't end well. But Limi, being the great sport we all know and love, ran with it. Accepting challenges as they come and taking the less than pleasant task is the mark of an outstanding roleplayer. Limi, take ten points, you earned them.

Sorry folks, between real life kicking my ass and STO deciding to take six hours to load (true story), I haven't been able to get on this week, so no RPOTW awards to hand out. I'm sure though that there was some epic RP I missed (except for Kiso of course )but keep it up folks. I'll be back this coming week.

So as the week is over and a new week of roleplaying begins, it's time for me to recognize some exemplary RP work. It's not easy for someone to sit in with a group they don't normally play with, and it's even harder to be a character in that story. For those who weren't tracking, the Avalon recently wrapped up a multi-part story arc, and in it were some guest characters. The players were gracious enough to participate to the specifications set up by the GM, and a they went above and beyond in their portrayal of the Aurynarians. My most sincere thanks to all three.
But since right now we're only talking last week, it's time to congratulate someone that had the daunting task of playing a specific type of villain. Given an unpronounceable name, and a basic description of what the GM wanted, Stryker created the villain, a religious order, and went above and beyond in his portrayal of the psychotic religious leader Flioslsik. His inspired speeches and frankly award worthy executions in cold blood made this arc what it was intended to be. Buddy, this one could not have happened without you. +10 points for you.

Thank you and the crew of the Avalon for the opportunity to join in and especially for not making my character speak in third person. Glad I had the opportunity to help out and I hope the next time I might be able to be a little less detestable haha.

Kiso, step forward!
It is the job of a Chief Engineer to be able to improvise, adapt, and over come any problem with the ship. Apparently, that also includes horticulture. You helped come up with a simple yet elegant solution to a crisis and saved the ship from sure destruction, as well as probably an unhealthy O2 level. And the part about turning the cargo bay into an ice rink made me chuckle.
Take ten points, you earned em.

I'll chalk it up to agricultural engineering And yeah, a guy alone on a frozen ship's gonna need to do something to pass the time. Plus, the Engineer is the miracle worker. Avalon wouldn't be where it is without the 'Scottish Engineer' stereotype XD

Damn, I've been lazy.
So as most of you know, I'm an asshole. I put your characters in danger, and you have no idea what I'm doing until I actually do it. I think it makes for badass RP though, so suck it up.
This week's winner is Korzan. Bad enough that you had to run the boat, but then you got to negotiate with then defeat a rogue captain, /and/ witness a rather nasty suicide up close and personal. You may need some psych treatment after that one, but you're getting the RPOTW Award, which is kinda like treatment. Take ten points.
