Kinda wrote this without showing the other Pathfinders, though they may certainly endorse it:
I’d like to take this time to thank everyone who participated in making this fleet great in 2016. Thank you for your all you contributed to our stories and community. I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, a rowdy Day of Honor, a greatful Day of Gratitude, a Happy (*shudders*) Life Day, a Happy Solstice, and a Bah Humbug (just covering my bases) to all of you.
With the 12 days of Christmas Shopping left, we understand that things can be hectic with scheduling this time of year. As always, Real Life comes first, and I can’t think of a better time of the year to remind everyone to turn off the screens and be with your family and friends during the holidays. You have our support.
I also want to take this time to address a few House Keeping orders of business that the Pathfinders are outstanding on.
First, the Fleet Admiral: We will begin the nomination and election process following the New Year. The original plan to start this following the week of US Thanksgiving was stalled due to an unfortunate timing of events that made all three Pathfinders unavailable due to RL issues. This normally takes about two weeks (one to gather the nominations, one to vote). The Pathfinders like a Sunday - Sunday schedule, so we will likely have the nomination details on the forum on January 8th and the voting will commence on the 15th and conclude on the 22nd. You are certainly allowed to look at the Archives for our past nomination process to get an idea of what we will be looking for. The process is not likely to change drastically. The Pathfinders are instructed to delete any application sent to them prior to the announcement for nominations.
Second, the Armada: As of 12/12/16, we are without an Armada and are looking for a new one or to start our own. We will be posting a thread to the forums to discuss possible Armada solutions and will investigate recommendations. As we will not join an Armada without a fleet vote, please be aware that this will be a slow process.
Third, Fleet HQ move: Related to the discussion [insert link here], there does not seem to be any big opposition to this change to our Fleet setting. We are going to leave the discussion up through the Holidays, and barring any major shift, will likely make the official IC announcement following New Years. Ideally, this will be in place before the tally for the Admiral is in place. This does not mean you cannot RP there now, maybe even setting up our facilities prior to people working in them. This can help get a jump start on open RP.
Fourth, Starbase: We are going to do a roster re-evaluation following the Admiral election to get a handle of who is still wanting to hold onto positions currently held as well as working with the new Admiral’s story directions. We will also be assessing if there is interest for an RP ship using the starbase (likely to take place on Tuesday nights) and any other possible directions. I know that one of my down time writing projects is to get some documentation on RP spots our fleet can use and the Starbase’s capabilities are among them.
Fifth, GM Primers: I’ll be looking at my schedule for good times to run another GM primer, so we can get people to be more comfortable with running their own stories. I would also like to revive “Random Runnabouts” as a way to get some practice for those that attend the Primer.
