"Personal Log: Supplemental
"General Kavor, leader of my House
and the one who brought me out of obscurity and designated me his heir
apparent is dead. He was killed on a hunting trip to Kang's Summit; he
died well. However, since Kavor left no biological male heirs, not
only is the House of Kavor and its forces mine to command now, it shall
be renamed the House of Karag in our people's traditions. I now travel
to the homeworld aboard my personal flagship, the TajHu', to take formal
possession of the House's ships, lands, and titles. In regards to
formally incorporating the properties of the House of Krenn into the
House of Karag, I await the final say of the High Council, to be
rendered at high sun in two days time in the Great Hall of the First
City. While Kavor did not meet his end on the field of battle, he did
die a death worthy of a Klingon. I vow that while this House will not
bear his name from now on, it shall be run in a manner worthy of his
deeds and memory..."
"Personal Log: Supplemental
"I sit at my...house's estate in
the northern territories newly installed as the leader of the House of
Karag; the final arrangements with Kavor's widow and the house's gin'tak
now complete. The late lord of the former House of Kavor's lands,
armies, ships, and titles are now mine to command. The issue with
absorbing the former House of Krenn's properties into mine will be
resolved tomorrow in the First City by the chancellor and the High
Council, though I doubt my receiving all of the now disbanded house will
be as the Earthers call it a 'slam dunk.' Still, I find myself wishing
that Kavor's ancestors would have received a fiefdom in a warmer part of
Qo'Nos..."
"Personal Log: Supplemental
"The High Council has ruled that
while the House of Karag will retain control of the warships of the
former House of Krenn, its lands and space stations will be divided up
to pay off Krenn's many debts. He was apparently as big of a fool when
it comes to finances as he was in battle. Unfortunately, this means my
forces will be forced to rely on the installations of other Houses like
that of Ka'rel for repairs and resupply. My gin'tak tells me I should
feel fortunate that I received even this much and I am forced to agree.
"I will have to remain in the First City for another day; Council
Member Terath has demanded a meeting with me tomorrow in his private
office at the Great Hall. Since the House of Karag and the House of
Terath are allied through my marriage to Tira, I have no choice but to
agree..."
"Personal Log: Supplemental
"My meeting with Terath has
concluded. While congratulating me on in over a year doubling the power
and prestige of my House, he cautioned me that such rapid progress
invites both fear and jealously. He also advised me to remain on Qo'Nos
to learn how to weave through the battlefields of inter-House
politics. As much as I am loathe to do so, for the benefit of the House
of Karag, I shall educate myself on what I need to know..."
*sounds very, very enraged*
"Personal Log: The...hu'tegh, fill this part in for me, accursed computer!
"That fool of a Ferasan! I should have known the petaQ would try to
deceive me! He only cared about that ship of his; not the elimination
of a dishonored House. Now they've attacked another Federation outpost
according to reports. I'm through playing politics here on Qo'Nos; once
the TajHu' is readied, I will be traveling to tengchaH Kladh to rally
my fleet and wipe out the remainder of these traitor forces myself!
Damn Maverick and damn Sanders for dragging me into this insanity..."
"General's Log: Supplemental
"I had an interesting discussion
with the human Sanders this evening on Deep Space 9, even though he
constantly complained that our talk was interrupting some Earth ritual
called a 'honey moon.' His rather honest revelations about the
activities of Maverick were...enlightening, and shall inform my
decisions regarding the situation henceforth. I shall consider Captain
Sanders' words and perhaps I may be willing to assist him so long it
benefits the Empire. He could have easily concealed the truth about
what has occurred, what the Ferasan now possesses, and while that is not
a guarantee of anything, it speaks well of the man's character, a man I
find more willing to trust than that yIng'tah Maverick at the
moment..."
"General's Log: Supplemental
"Another day of toiling at Deep
Space 9, another day of waiting for my next encounter with the Ferasan
Maverick. Toiling and hearing word that the nephew of Ka'rel, K'Vok, is
making a name for himself, perhaps even warranting a command of his
own. The House of Ka'rel is honored in the Empire; if one of the
general's kin has earned the right to command a Klingon warship, so much
the better. I'd prefer a young though arrogant officer like K'Vok over
most of the fools I've had the displeasure of encountering lately..."
"General's Log: Supplemental
"I shall be taking the Reclaw and
his escorts to the homeworld to report on the current state of the
so-called Romulan Republic and the threat posed by the Solius petaQ who
now leads the old Empire. I fully expect that the High Council will
welcome the opportunity to continue to choke the life out of the
government on Rator while bolstering that of New Romulus as being a
worthy and honorable ally of the Klingon Empire..."
"General's Log: Supplemental
"During our journey home, the
Reclaw and his escort birds of prey were ambushed by a squadron of
Hirogen warships. Our escorts and this ship's HoH'SuS bird of prey were
lost in the conflict, however the enemy warships were dispatched thanks
to Captain Vero. After the Federation battle cruiser Avalon arrived to
assist in our repairs, Hirogen boarding parties were discovered on the
Reclaw, dispatched by the efforts of both our crews, including a rather
courageous small nurse from said Federation ship. With warp power
restored and under escort from the forces of the House of Ka'rel, we are
on course for tengchaH Kladh to conduct full repairs of our battle
damage.
"I am convinced that the House of Duras has a hand in
this, that their operatives placed a spy aboard the Reclaw that betrayed
our secret course to the enemy and nearly resulted in our destruction.
Once I find out who has betrayed us, his or her death will be slow and
honorless. And then we shall take the fight to Rator and perhaps finish
this once and for all!"
"General's Log: Supplemental
"The Reclaw is now dry docked at
tengchaH Kladh and repairs are expected to take three to four weeks. In
the meantime, I have procured transportation to Qo'Nos in the form of
the IKS veS'SuS, one of the House of Ka'rel's warships. Once I have
delivered my report in person to the High Council and tend to matters of
the House of Karag, I will return to Tau Dewa aboard a bird of prey
from the carrier Chargh's flight group and transfer my flag to Captain
T'Kor's vessel until the Reclaw is operational again.
"In the
meantime, we have discovered just how the Hirogen were able to ambush
us. Tracing computer activity aboard the Reclaw led to the discovery of
a spy on board, a bekk of no real importance who likely thought my
death would earn him great rewards. Now all it has earned him is a
pointless death without honor..."
*He reaches down and pats the head of Martok, his jackal mastiff, whose gray fur is now caked with drying Klingon blood*
"General's Log: Supplemental
"I have returned to the Chargh in
orbit of New Romulus after...voicing my displeasure with the
representative of the Romulan Star Empire assigned to Deep Space Nine.
If the Romulans wish a war, then war is what they shall have..."
"General's Log: Supplemental
"Repairs and upgrades to the
Reclaw are now complete and we have departed tengchaH Kladh. The House
of Karag and the Imperial 3rd Fleet will continue to honor the agreement
between the House of Ka'rel and the Federation in regards to
retaliation against the Romulan Empire. Still, I look forward to again
proving my flagship's power in battle against a fleet of warbirds..."
