Captains Log: Stardate 89998.2
Victory Strike Group is still waiting on some key ships, namely the Portia, who was confirmed to leaving Mars late last night. Most ships are in place and have been outfitted with more upgraded weapons systems.
While waiting, I was able to take the Victory and some support vessels into the Rolor Nebula for some real world practice as well as simulated combat against Klingon Ships. The crew performed admirably. This morning, the Victory's bridge crew took part in drills in a simulated Borg attack on the holo-deck.
Victory handles well, if sluggish... It is to be expected with such a large craft. Still, the lack of maneuverability will take some getting used to. I will miss the Independence's ability to pull off some fancier tricks than listing lazily to the left, but such are the differences to the posting.
On the work with the Klingons, Captain T'Kor has brought up some startling news. Merzan seems to be rallying troops. It appears he doesn't concern himself with a Klingon's honor so much as his ability skill. For the Klingons, this is a dangerous view in crew selection... For Starfleet, probably concern as well. How many discomendated individuals look for work in Klingon society? Millions? Now to be given a place on a war ship... a chance to redeem their honor... at the service of a young, charismatic leader who's house seems vocally against the cease-fire?
This looks like it could be another fine mess for the 146th to handle.
