While Captain Sanders is away to the Alpha Quadrant in the Excalibur, I am in charge of the Avalon.
The Spire restoration teams have informed me that they have finally managed to clear off one of the secondary spaces in the primary hall of the Spire. It has been converted into a resting lounge and bar, which should be useful for crewmembers to relax and rest. The Avalon will soon make a stop at the Spire where I will allow the crew to have rest at the Spire for a time until the Excalibur returns.

I remained on board the Avalon during its repairs at the Utopia Planitia Yards, mainly to assist Commander Fearos with maintaining Non-Federation technology present on board, my own quarters being a point in case.
Unfortunately today, I received word from the Captain that our former Chief Medical Officer was a Tal Shiar agent. I've immediately begun a careful search of the ship for any signs of Tal Shiar tampering that she could have done. Given the Avalon is still under repairs, those tamperings could be even more precarious.
On a more personal note, I am relieved I did not have any examination with her while she was on board.
The Captain is currently busy dealing with matters related to hunt the agent. In the meantime, I will continue the search on the Avalon. I will see if there might not be the possibility of hastening departure. Doubtful, but we will see.

The Avalon continues to remain in orbit of Bajor as we maintain our watch of the delegates gathered at the diplomatic conference on Bajor. Aside from minor banter and discussions on the bridge, there was little of note, except for an unscheduled Risaian ship owned by one Salen Mal who arrived in Bajor's orbit.
Logs of his ship, the Emerald Dancer reported he was supposed to head for Risa this week instead of here. Scans of his ship uncovered nothing unusual, but we did warn the Hathorn ground security of his potential arrival, even if he is a resident. With the conference underway, one cannot be too careful.
Diplomatic visits also continue on board the ship as we wait for Grand Nagus Rom's ship, the 35th Rule to make his arrival, which shouldn't be before tomorrow due to engine issues.

The Avalon was tasked for an exploration mission in the Zenas Expanse. Our first discovery was a source of radiation on a Class M planet, the radiation being of a foreign source to the inhabitants.
After scans confirmed the radiation came from unknown devices on the planet that were not made by the natives, an away team was sent on the planet to resolve the problem without the natives being aware of it.
The unknown devices responsible for the radiation emission had their power supplies misaligned due to unknown reasons. A simple realignment solved the radiation problem.
Due to the radiation, the underwater water supplies in this region were also contaminated, affection the local flora and inhabitants. We will beam in an additional influx of H20 to help disperse the contamination more quickly, thus repairing the damage done.
Once we are done with our scans and observations of the planet and its inhabitants, we will resume our exploration mission.

First Officer's Log, Stardate 90251.73135464231
The Avalon was tasked to recover the Stapledon, one of the Dyson hybrid ships that was reported missing as it attempted to test its subspace fold drive. It was recently discovered flying at warp, with its course set into Imperial Romulan territory. The Avalon had to either recover, or scuttle the ship to prevent it from falling into enemy hands.
Initial scans showed us the ship was empty of apparent lifeforms, and command codes could not be used to remotely stop the ship, so I led an away team on board to shut down the ship.
While on board, we discovered that the entire crew was either missing or dead, having apparently killed itself. Further inspection showed helm control had been cut off from engineering, so Engineer Wintermane was sent to Engineering to shut the core there.
We discovered later that we were not alone on board. An unknown entity was attempting to control the Stapledon and shot a torpedo at the Avalon to prevent it from following the Stapledon, however we managed to shut down the core.
The entity attacked and killed some of the MACO officers, however I was able to potentially negotiate and pacify with the creature in order to allow us a more peaceful resolution to this conflict: If it relinquished its control over the ship, we could open a rift back to its dimension. After a long discussion, it ultimately complied.
We were able to open a rift to let it return to its dimension, but our remaining MACO troops along with Commander V'arek and, unintentionally, Engineer Wintermane, all shot the Reman host used by the creature.
While I can understand how acceptable it might have been to open fire on it following the fact it killed the Stapledon's crew, and some of the away team, doing so after I had managed to negotiate and pacify the creature is unacceptable. A reprimand will be added to their records for this action.
However, as soon as the entity was sent to its native dimension and the ship under control, it began to be pulled again into the other dimension as soon as the core was turned back online. The Avalon managed to catch up to the Stapledon and beamed up the remaining members of the away team. Hopefully, the spatial charges we set were able to activate as soon as the ship shifted.
The Avalon has now resumed course for Starbase 146 for now.

At Captain Sanders' request, I will be withdrawing my official reprimand for Commander V'arek and the MACO troops during the away team. However I will still note a certain disappointment in their actions. I will not condone what they did as they acted in the way Starfleet Security officers and MACO soldiers should do, but I am not entirely pleased they opened fire when a potential consensus had been reached with the other party.

Excerpt from the funerals of Itachi Rin, Stardate 90254.1095890411
"Itachi Rin was a comrade of mine, that served under me on the Avalon before she transferred over to the Fox. I have known of her well, and I admit it is a tragic loss we are all undergoing. But she wasn't just a good officer. She was an artist, a seeker. She was Bajoran, yet did not let herself restrained by the limits of Bajoran religion, but despite that she also accepted it, unifying both in her life. And above all else as I said, she was a seeker. She wanted to explore, to understand and to discover. She truly embodied the qualities that which Starfleet strives for: To explore, with interest for the unknown, always with peaceful intents. It is a great tragedy indeed that she has left us. But now she will be exploring the Final Frontier beyond this existence. And thus we may request that the Prophets will welcome her at their Temple. She will be missed, but we will not forget her. Never forget who she was, what she did, and what she strived for. She was an example to follow."

First Officer's Log, Stardate 90309.30365296804
Our patrol in the Solanae Dyson Sphere allowed us to discover that the Voth's presence had severly diminished since our departure from the sphere. It turns out that Species 8472 had infiltrated their ranks and had already made several strikes against them. One of their leader, Grand Marshal Siyi was willing to accept a truce with us. On the other hand, High Inquisitor Oggra had taken a portion of the Voth fleet with her with the intent to continue the fight against the Joint Alliance. It is also possible that she might have been replaced by a member of Species 8472. While we headed back for allied territory, the Avalon recieved a distress signal, of something I knew would come. Species 8472 had begun their assault, with a daring move: They sent a fleet from the Delta Quadrant, into the Jenolan Dyson Sphere, into its Gateway leading in the Solanae Dyson Sphere, before going into the Gateway leading to the Alpha Quadrant, and set course for Earth. The flagships of the Joint Alliance were already dispatched in pursuit, but obviously as many available ships from the Task Force set course to assist Earth. However mid-way, we recieved a message from the Enterprise that this attack was nothing more than a diversion, and that Species 8472's true goal was Qo'nos. The fleet changed course accordingly. With the Enterprise leading us, the task force arrived at Qo'nos to assist in the defense of the Klingon Homeworld, until one of the Kulinor Pact vessel was detected, before its quantum drive failed and destroyed the ship, opening a massive quantum rift leading to Fluidic Space. Just as I had expected, from the...'dreams' I recently had...this was the purpose of these ships. To open massive rifts leading into Fluidic Space, and the size of these rifts was made not for masses of bioship, but a single new type of bioship. A Planet Killer. Captain Shon of the Enterprise went and undertook a risky a move. He used the Aquarius of the Enterprise and piloted it on a collision course with the Planet Killer's weakest section, it's weapon orifice. The Avalon and several other ships followed suit to escort the Aquarius on its way to the Planet Killer, and ultimately, the Aquarius crashed into the Planet Killer, its warp core also detonating, killing the massive bioship. While there were many casualties and damage, including the destruction of the main Qo'nos shipyard, and Earth Space Dock having suffered much damagte, the Qo'nos was saved, and this act of bravery from Captain Shon impressed the Klingon Empire enough so that they invited several of the Federation's captains and Admiral Quinn to the Klingon Great Hall, where Chancellor J'mpok and Admiral Quinn officially declared that the war between the Federation and the Klingon Empire would end. Which means the chances of a new Accord to be created might be possible. But from what I learned, the celebrations were marred by the unexpected appearance of an Iconian, who gave a warning to all those present, and even killed 6 members of the Klingon High Council before leaving. There is little doubt as to what this means: The Iconians were unable to use subterfuge to destroy the Federation or the Klingon Empire, which means they might now resort to much more overt means. Still, our chances of survival have vastly improved. Species 8472's attack was undoubtedly very troubling and tragic, however overall, this may be a major improvement for all of us, even with the Iconian's threat. Unfortunately, on a more personal level on the Avalon, we had an issue that happened during this crisis. Lieutenant Commander Alexis Maus deserted the Avalon, disobeying direct orders from Captain Sanders, and transported herself on board a secret experimental ship known only as the Talon. From what I garnered, it is very likely she is a relative of Admiral Quinn, and that the attack on Earth Spacedock incited her to rush to his aid. While desiring to help a kin might be appreciated, doing so with a complete disregard of Starfleet protocols and orders cannot be forgiven. As such, I have issues orders for an arrest warrant for Lieutenant Commander Alexis Maus, so that she be returned to Starbase 146, where she will have to face disciplinary measures for her actions. One of my present concerns at the moment is Captain Sanders' condition. The two were in a relationship, and this act of disobediance from her may affect the captain harshly. There could be potential risks of conflict of interest regarding the matter, and perhaps it could even go with the risks of the captain being emotionally compromised. I hope that will not be the case, but the captain does appear compromised, I will have no choice but to have him removed from duty, as per following Starfleet protocols. I stand as the First Officer to act as a warning to the Captain about what he should and should not do, and if he crosses a line, I know I have to act. If he does cross the line that is.

Personal Log, Stardate 90309.33219178082
I am very dissapointed in what Lieutenant Commander Maus did. To think she would decide to disobey the Captain's orders, and blantantly transport herself off the Avalon is unexcusable. I can understand she was overwhelmed by her emotions and feelings toward her relative, but going as far as doing something like that is not acceptable. To put it simply, she refused to have faith in others that were also headed to help Earth Spacedock, and thought she had to deal with it herself. One way or another, she will need to be brought before justice. And no matter what happens, Admiral Quinn cannot 'save' her by overruling her actions and consider them acceptable. That would be viewed as a favorable treatment, and also a conflict of interest. The Admiral however might be of help to track her if necessary. I doubt it might be appropriate that Captain Sanders were to meet him for information on Maus' wherabouts, given their relationship. But it might not be an issue for me. Of course I would need to to have the proper authrization to speak to him, but that might not be impossible to get. I'm certain Admiral Chakotay might aid me for this matter, if I have to speak with Admiral Quinn that is. But perhaps she will see the errors of her ways and will surrender herself to the Avalon or at the Starbase. Whatever happens, if she tries to continue escaping us, she will be branded as a rogue Starfleet officer. But before we begin any kind of search for Maus, there are other priorities to attend to. I need to manufacture more Borg Nanoprobe torpedoes, given we exhausted the remaining ones we had in stock in the last battle. Commander V'arek unexpectedly enough suggested the use of a medical nanite replicator as a mean to ease my manufacturing efforts. It is a commendable suggestion, but whether or not it might truly help, I fear that I will always need to spend some of my nanoprobes for the manufacturing of the torpedoes.
Another issue related to the torpedoes is that given the fact we are now in open conflict with Species 8472, weapons designed to fight them is required. Starfleet has already worked on the Bio-Molecular torpedoes as a mean to fight them, however these are not as efficient or deadly as the Nanoprobe torpedoes, both the original Voyager variant, and the Borg-modified variant I designed. Unfortunately, mass-producing them is next to impossible, even for me, using not just my nanoprobes, but several Borg devices of my creation as well. This means that the usage of Borg Nanoprobe torpedoes might be limited only to the Avalon. Perhaps I might be able to create a variant design that other Liberated might be able to produce, but they might not perform as well as what I designed. Unfortunately, my design was made using the technology I possess. Said Borg technology is somewhat different from the standard drone components due to my state as a next generation prototype. Spreading the design schematics of the torpedoes I created would tip off others that the Borg technology I use is not what is commonly used. And it would draw too much attention to myself.
I spoke of that to Commander V'arek. I even discussed some of the issues about my origins, even the fact that I never was human, but rather a human clone, whose genetic structure was even altered differently. Though I've yet to tell anyone about what was the catalyst that incited the Collective to create me and the 24 other prototypes, I wonder if I should. I fear they might become extremely troubled, even fearful if they knew the truth. For all I know, 20 of 25 may have told Klingon Intelligence what was the catalyst.
Still, in a way, the discussion I had with him may have helped improve relations between us. I never forget that he was not so willing to be working under a Borg First Officer when he first joined the Avalon. Whether or not his opinion of myself changed since then, I do not know well, but improving relations with fellow crewmembers can help improve overall efficiency. He also seemed willing to spar against me in hand to hand combat. I decided to accept. We'll see what results it will bring.

The Avalon unexpectedly discovered a Jarkonian listening post on an isolated asteroid during our search for the captured admiral. The listening post was deserted and almost all its equipment removed, however a list of various Starfleet officers were found in the post, and was downloaded on board so we can cross-reference it with the computer's database.
I also contacted the Jarkonian homeworld for any possible information they might have. Unsurprisingly enough, they had nothing on the matter of this outpost, or the list. If they do obtain something, I asked they forward it to us.
On an alternate note, there has been a refuse processor failure on Deck 10. Repairs are mostly done at this point, however what mostly remains is to clean the taint left in Deck 10.

Personal Log, Stardate 90349.56
Captain Sanders' request to prepare the Avalon to be able to open a rift to Fluidic Space can be easily completed, with or without our new Engineer's assistance.
The Collective could open a rift using an Intrepid-class starship's deflector dish 20 years ago. Doing the same thing with an Odyssey-class starship's deflector dish is not difficult at all.
However, the problem isn't about the Avalon's ability to open a rift. What concerns me is the reasoning.
Captain Sanders want to run a test of new impulse engines made for Fluidic Space. I can understand there aren't many other alternatives to test the engines, however the risks might be too great.
Opening a Fluidic Rift has high risks of triggering a compression wave on the other side that will be felt and noticed by any nearby Species 8472 bioships, which would then head over on an intercept course for the rift's location. Estimation would be 3 hours before their arrival, potentially less if bioships are closer to the rift's coordinates.
There are the risks that the new engines might have problems functionning in Fluidic Space despite being designed to work there. Using the Avalon as a testbed for that experiment might be unwise. Not to mention a ship like the Avalon could be viewed as a serious threat by Species 8472. A much smaller ship should be used for this purpose. The Excalibur perhaps , but even so, that might be ill suited for the task.
I understand this was an order from the Captain, but I am extremely concerned by this. For what reason should the Avalon be the first ship on which these engines should be tested? And at the time being, there are little reasons to send ships into Fluidic Space. Though I have heard that the newly established 8472 Counter-Command combat force has been making limited strike forces into Fluidic Space, however the Avalon isn't part of that task force.
I hadn't thought I would even consider such a thing before, but I may very well have to disobey the Captain's orders. From my observations and examinations, the Avalon would be put at too great a risk with this experiment.
Then again, one of the tasks of the First Officer is to act as a voice of reason to the Captain, and should the Captain decide to give orders that might be too dangerous, then the First Officer must step in, and remove the Captain from command, if necessary. I hope I won't have to go that far. But depending on how circumstances might be, I may have to. It is my duty to this ship after all.

Acting Captain's Log, Stardate 90596.91780821918
Our mission to track and locate Maec, son of S'harien was a disaster. While we were able to track the ship and then the shuttle he and his mother used to head to an abandoned Cardassian mining facility in the Rolor Nebula, we were followed and attacked by a Romulan Mogai class ship, no doubt belonging to the Tal Shiar and led by S'harien himself. Unfortunately the Mogai distracted us long enough to the point that the away team sent to the surface was taken by Tal Shiar forces.
And among them were Doctor Whitlock, Lieutenant Commander V'arek...and Captain John Sanders...
Because of this, and following emergency Starfleet procedures and protocol, I am now taking on the rank of Acting Captain of the USS Avalon until this crisis is resolved either in the recovery of Captain Sanders...or the confirmation that he and the away team were killed in action...or lost in a similar fashion...
Afterward, with the crisis resolved, we can see about having a new Captain on board, as well as replacements to the lost command staff.
Communications will be established as soon as possible with Starbase 146 so that I can discuss of these events with Admiral Starsinger. The Avalon will be headed there as soon as we are cleared of the Omega particules bomb blast radius that the Mogai used to slow us down. Unfortunately, it makes it difficult to know if we will ever be able to properly track the Mogai afterward. Even if we heavily damaged its left warp nacelle, we cannot be certain as whenever or not we will be able to track the warp trail properly.
End Log.
17 of 25's Personal Log
I had always found it unlikely that I would ever become the Captain of the Avalon one day. One day, I had expected to become Captain... ...but not like this... I will not deny the sensations I am perceiving...these emotions now suppressed by my cortical node...
It is not unlike the time when we lost Commander Edward Gathis...But I know... I know I cannot let myself be overwhelmed by these emotions this time. I am a Starfleet Officer. I must remain focused on the task at hand.
I will need to speak with Admiral Starsinger...and there is no doubt I will need to find temporary replacements for my command staff...
I wonder if S'harien realizes what he has done. Sanders might be human...but I am Borg. If the opportunity comes...he will suffer justice as it should be...
And I will be very...pleased...to carry out that task...

17 of 25's Personal Log, Supplemental
I've finished my debriefing by Admiral Starsinger. She was obviously not pleased to hear of the events, but she wants me to have the Avalon ready for operation as soon as possible and find clues on S'harien.
Obviously, this also means that this also officialize my position as Acting Captain of the Avalon for the time being. I will have to see about temporarily filling the gaps in my senior staff, as well.
I admit I am...uncertain. That now I am the Commanding Officer of a Federation Starship...and the Avalon at that... Yet I know I also...feel uneasiness regarding the fact that perhaps I should have tried to beam back the away team sooner. I suppose that would be the emotion known as 'regret'.
I cannot dwell on this however. I need to finish getting the Avalon ready for departure and activity.
Then I need to find clues on S'harien's whereabouts. And I also need to find additional allies.
Given what I have known regarding the Romulans, it is very likely that S'harien could essentially make some kind of public demonstration regarding those he captured. Or for all we know, he might also try to indoctrinate them... I cannot dwell on this constantly. I have a mission to complete.

The Avalon's repairs are fully complete and I've already ordered the ship for a course for Deep Space Nine. I intend to see with Captain Kurland whether or not he had some information regarding a damaged Mogai ship. This may not amount to much, but I need to begin somewhere...
In the meantime, I've already begun internal rearrangements on the Avalon. With most of the senior staff gone, I need to select replacements from the lesser ranks.
As a safety measure, I also have purged Captain Sanders' command codes from the Avalon's computers in the advent that S'harien would try to use those against my ship. That is too great a risk to ignore. There is still much more I need to do however. Much much more.

Acting Captain's Personal Log, Stardate 90599.82876712328
Recorded under Personal Borg Code [REDACTED]
I've taken the Avalon directly into Klingon territory in order to meet with some of the Klingon Generals that would be of assistance to us, and I ended up speaking with General Ka'rel, where I've told him about what happened to the Avalon.
I even told him about S'harien's son, and the weaponized Omega. Overall my discussion with him may have made the Klingons willing to assist us with stopping S'harien.
Athough I admit it may not have been a truly regular action I took. My first days as a Captain and I already breach some regulations.
On the other hands, I am also still in the right by following the Omega Directive, which essentially states that I am allowed to stop and destroy Omega by any means necessary. Even the Prime Directive is rescinded before the Omega Directive. So revealing potentially classified information may thus be deemed acceptable in the current circumstances.
The discussion with the Klingons also made me realize something. S'harien most likely was very desperate. He wanted to recover his illegitimate son at all costs, and captured Sanders, V'arek and Whitlock as well most likely due to that. But it's not us he wants to stop from learning the truth. It's the Romulan Empire.
Which makes me realize that perhaps, if we somehow were able to broadcast our findings and truth regarding S'harien's illegal relationship and his son, it could deal him a terrible blow. This could be a plan, but I will need further thinking on this.
More than anything, I need to prepare many plans. The only way to truly defeat S'harien isn't with just a single plan, but many ones. If I can essentially 'assault' from multiple angles, he may become overwhelmed, and easier to defeat.
Still, in any case, there was another concern that recently came to light.
Cadet Jack McGinnis, nephew of Captain John Sanders arrived at Starbase 146, having learned of his uncle's fate. And he wants to help us in this...or rather, he most likely wants to join on the Avalon.
Before I can accept that, I'll need to discuss this with Admiral Starsinger. It isn't just a matter of putting a Cadet at risk. It's also a matter of revealing private information. After all, if I take him on board, there are risks he will learn of the Omega Directive. Is that even correct to put a Cadet through that? Perhaps not. I'll see what the Admiral has to say on this.
And afterward, I'll need to discuss with some of the Romulan Republic's military commanders and see if I can gain their assistance as well. And General Woden will most likely want some answers regarding what happened.

Acting Captain's Personal Log, Stardate 90602.62557077626
While I couldn't discuss with Admiral Starsinger today, I had an unexpected encounter with a partially assimilated individual who was suffering from the malfunction of a critical implant.
I was able to recognize the issue she had and with the assistance of a few others, I had her transported on board the Avalon so we could perform an operation on her in order to save her from complete shutdown due to the implant.
Fortunately the procedure was successful, but what was interesting to learn was that this person was in charge of a merchant company of some repute. The interest in this is that now she owes me a favor due to saving her life. I intend to have her repay that favor by using her merchant company to attempt to look for S'harien as well.
Starfleet ships are obviously noticeable, but merchant ships that may not necessarily appear to seek S'harien may be less noticeable to him.
Should they find information on S'harien's wherabouts, they are to inform Starfleet at once so we can move in to apprehend S'harien. They certainly do not know of Omega, thus I cannot let them risk being involved in that.

It has been a week since the abduction of Captain Sanders, Commander V'arek and Doctor Whitlock. I have been very busy preparing the Avalon for what I expect to be our next encounter with S'harien. Most preparations have been done, such as the development of new combat tactics I planned, some reorganization in the command structure and of course, briefing on the Omega Directive.
Now we just have one last project that should be completed soon, perhaps something truly ambitious that I discussed with our Engineering Team: To fully enable the Avalon to be able to launch both the Excalibur, and the Chevron section, essentially creating a a Multi-Vector Assault Mode.
Completing this project will no doubt grant the Avalon a fearsome advantage. The Avalon will do what is necessary to complete its mission.

Acting Captain's Log Stardate 90615.98173515982
The Avalon received coordinates from Thane V'arek who was able to send a message to us, relaying the coordinates of the Telbok. It was in an isolated system where Iconian relics were rumored to be present. We notified the 146th as planned then departed to find the Telbok. Before we arrived however, it seems mister V'arek must have managed to sabotage the Telbok enough to render it helpless. We sent out boarding team to recover Omega and our missing crewmembers, but the Telbok had already started evacuation.
We were able to track a shuttle, which I suspect had S'harien on board, heading for the planet, but before we could initiate pursuit, a Tal Shiar fleet arrived, soon followed by allied reinforcements from the 146th, other Federation ships, Klingon, Cardassian and Romulan Republic ships.
I am willing to let the Tal Shiar surrender, but I doubt that even if outnumbered, they will take me up on that offer...

First Officer's Log, Stardate 90711.92922374429
We continued to hunt for the Mirror version of Doctor B'Kehla Johnson, the leader of the rebel Jem'Hadar until Deep Space Nine reported their fleet went back in the Wormhole, and had disabled the station with a virus.
The Avalon went into pursuit, and I had the Excalibur prepared for combat. However during the moment of communication between Captain Sanders and Johnson, she was able to trigger that same virus in the Avalon's systems. Fortunately, I was able to have the Excalibur perform an emergency launch before it could have been infected.
The Excalibur then disposed of the lone enemy ship that remained to watch the Avalon before we pursued the rest of the 9 Jem'Hadar ships to the planet where the anti-Iconian weapon was located. However the rebels arrived first, and the Excalibur proceeded to engage them when we noticed their shields were down for transport.
6 of them were disabled or destroyed in the initial shots, but we discovered a good opportunity. Docto Johnson was on the planet with the ground troops, and isolating her lone Klingon lifesigns among the Jem'Hadar ones was fairly easy. Thus we were able to transport her on board and have her detained.
The Avalon rejoined us in the end and proceeded to finish the remaining rebel ships and the Excalibur docked to have the prisoner transferred over to its brig.
I intend to question her soon if possible. Perhaps my appearance as Borg could be unsettling to her. Captain Sanders seem to doubt it, but we cannot be certain.
In the meantime, I've also ordered one of the corpses of the Jem'Hadar boarders on the Avalon to be sent over to my quarters.
I intend to extract its cerebral cortex, then regenerate it in order to extract anything useful from its memory patterns. I know that from an ethical standpoint, this is very distasteful, however I believe it is necessary.
The Jem'Hadar died only less than an hour ago, and thus is still in excellent condition to be regenerated using Borg Nanoprobes. Of course, I only need to regenerate its cortex. The rest of the body will be discarded as necessary, as I doubt Doctor Whitlock needs another body to dissect regarding the genetical modifications done to those rebels so they would no longer need the Ketracel White.
Perhaps I could use that cortex at a later time to intimidate Mirror Doctor Johnson. It remains to be seen.

First Officer's Log, Stardate 90750.399543379
The recent events were...exhausting, in a manner of speaking.
Internal Affairs sent us an agent to investigate the presence of a possible Terran Empire agent on board, and said agent sought to question everyone of the senior staff on the matter.
However we were duped. The agent in question was a Terran spy...and it turns out that our Doctor Whitlock was actually replaced by her Terran counterpart. On a personal note, I am very glad I did not have any recent medical examination from her...I rarely do in fact.
Unfortunately, it is clear that the Terran version of Whitlock was responsible of the viral infection on board the Avalon, and most likely Deep Space Nine as well.
But just as we realized who the spies were, they escaped using a dimensional transporter. Fortunately, the device was left on our side. I had it handed over to Ometo for analysis. I cannot say if it was intended by them to forget the device or not... Also, before leaving, another virus was triggered in our systems. Last time I did not decide to do such a thing to help in purging the viral infection from the systems, but this time, given the emergency, I had no choice, and took it upon myself to directly interface with the computer core in order to purge the virus.
It was a risky procedure, however this isn't the first time I interfaced directly with the Avalon, or another system...There was after all the case of attempting to connect with the Emissary's AI system, and of course...another system that was far more complex. Regardless, the viral purge was successful, albeit exhausting. Regeneration will be required.
On another matter, the Mirror version of B'Kehla was killed by an unknown device, no doubt the work of Mirror Whitlock. Commander V'arek informed me that her brain ceased working...however all is not lost. I've ordered him to put the body into stasis, which was done swiftly. I have a plan that could help us...

First Officer's Personal Log
It is rather disconcerting that once again, the interrogator was an enemy agent. If we once again have someone else come on board for interrogations, I think we will need to have him scanned beforehand.
Whitlock's viruses were troublesome, but I've managed what I could with my purge. The rest should be handled easily by the crew. As for B'Kehla...
I have a plan that may allow us to learn perhaps everything we want to know on this matter...but there is a rather considerable ethical problem. I may have to act on my own for the next part of this.
Borg nanoprobes constantly regenerate a Drone's organical components, the brain included. Thanks to this, a Borg Drone is effectively immortal, as long as their critical cybernetical components remain functional as well. This also means that, provided a corpse has not undergone cellular necrosis for too long, a day at most, it can be regenerated. From what I know, it appears that Annika Hansen had to use such procedure to 'ressurect' Neelix during an incident on Voyager.
This also mean that while Mirror B'Kehla might be seemingly dead...I could regenerate her brain and thus be able to access it in order to obtain all the information we seek.
Of course I will need to take precaution to avoid any kind of potential indoctrination risks from memories related to the Iconians. This is something I had planned already since my previous experiment on that Jem'Hadar brain I obtained from the attack on the Avalon recently.
I do not know if the Captain will really want me to perform what I plan to do...but perhaps we might not have other means to pursue those spies...and locate Doctor Whitlock...if she is alive.
