Stories from the Feast of Qot baVol
T'Kor@hszmv: So... there I was, sitting in the bar on the space station. I was drinking my favorite Bloodwine by the fireplace....
T'Kor@hszmv: When in comes this Ferasan... An ill mannered and hot head piece of petQ if ever I met one.
T'Kor@hszmv: This... thing... had the nerve to impune my honor out of nowhere.
T'Kor@hszmv: So... I challenged him to a fight... TO THE DEATH!
T'Kor@hszmv: He came at me with his claws... and drove them into my face. *makes a clawing motion along the scars on the left side of his face*
T'Kor@hszmv: And tried to go at my throat.
T'Kor@hszmv: But I pulled my D'K Tagh, and plunged it into the gut of the fowl creature and sent him to Grethor where he and his kin belong. And as I stood there over his dead body, I thought to myself...
T'Kor@hszmv: "What a shame to see a creature with that shiny a coat go to waste."
T'Kor@hszmv: So... I took his body back to my ship, and after some time I found he indeed had quite a warm coat. *proudly pulls on the fur coat he is wearing right now.* And I found his honor restored....
T'Kor@hszmv: For the most part.
T'Kor@hszmv sits in a chair.
Xlehis@Huntario: "Sometime not too long ago, I was attending a celebration. One much like this, actually."
Xlehis@Huntario: "Food was fresh, drinks were plentiful, and guests of all kinds circled around for the feasts. It was truly a time to remember."
Xlehis@Huntario: "Some of the guests were outsiders, but that day, they were fellow warriors, helping us in our... Traditions."
Xlehis@Huntario: moves along the table as he tells his story.
Xlehis@Huntario: "I unfortunately had not shown up on time. So I had to quickly make introductions, while not disturbing the others too much. I was... Excited, I suppose you could say."
Xlehis@Huntario: "I thought to myself, that I needed to become known. I needed to makes my presence known!" Xlehis slams a fist down on the table.
Xlehis@Huntario: "I also took note of how I had not been served any food at the time. So, I would get myself food. I also had to make a point..."
Xlehis@Huntario: Xlehis laughs, slightly looking to his left.
Xlehis@Huntario: "That sometimes wearing your enemies, would be a waste, my friend." Xlehis walks over, taking T'Kor's plate. "He could have fed a family." Xlehis laughs again, walking off with his new plate of food.
S'Rell@khaoskrow: "A number of years ago I served on a Bird of Prey. Ning'tao class. A real mean bird. We were tasked with hitting Federation supply routes."
S'Rell@khaoskrow: "Simple stuff. HIt and run ops. Decloak, blow holes, steal stuff, cloak and move off. It was a good job. Real easy. Like taking candy from a Pakled."
S'Rell@khaoskrow: "Then one day word came down that the Feds had finally started guarding their ships a bit better. We paid no mind. What was one or two little Sabers to us?"
S'Rell@khaoskrow: "So we come up to this freighter to find a Soverign class. Not what we expected. The captain decides to hit anyway. Something about bringing honor or whatever."
S'Rell@khaoskrow: "We drop out of cloak and I blow one one nacalle with a cannon barrage. Torpedo blew out six decks before they could even get their shields up. But that wasn't good enough for the captain, no."
S'Rell@khaoskrow: "No honor there. So we boarded. My team went straight to the bridge. It was a hard fight. By the time we got to the bridge, we'd lost around half our warriors."
S'Rell@khaoskrow: "The captain was a Vulcan man. Unarmed for some reason. I left my team to handle the bridge crew while I dropped by rifle and engaged him in hand to hand."
S'Rell@khaoskrow: "He was good. Used some kind of martial arts I wasn't familiar with. He managed to break three ribs and dislocate my shoulder before I tore his throat out with my teeth."
S'Rell@khaoskrow: chuckles and licks his fangs. "I got a promotion from all that. Good times."
Vilaina@Starjumpersix: "Before Starbase 146 was constructed we had to get the supplies over there. At the time, I was Captain of a Thunderchild-class Providence. Seemed like a simple trip. Was quiet on the way to K-7 for +
Vilaina@Starjumpersix: the pick up of the ships we were to escort. My XO thought it'd be quiet on the way back. Nope. We were about two light years from the Beta Ursae Border when three birds of prey decloak. Three +
Vilaina@Starjumpersix: Klingon birds of prey against a Thunderchild and a bunch of freighters. Hell of a party, right? Oh yeah, phasers, torpedoes, and disruptors all over the damn place. Lost shields within...thirty +
Vilaina@Starjumpersix: seconds of the first volleys. You'd think they wanted me dead. *Grins* First one to actually blow was a bird of prey, and left the other two pretty damaged in that blast...didn't stop them from +
Vilaina@Starjumpersix: sending boarding parties. Naturally their primary targets were the bridge and engineering. Don't blame them, course anyone that's met an Andorian from the Andorian homeworld knows they still raise +
Vilaina@Starjumpersix: warriors of their own, I wasn't worried about Engineering. What I had was an angry Klingon in my face, with intent to kill me and take my ship. Not a good plan on his end. I get up, and out of the +
Vilaina@Starjumpersix: way before his bat'let splits my chair in two, and draw my own blade. He wants an honor duel and my phaser's on the other side of the chair. So he and I go Illarian Force Knife versus Klingon +
Vilaina@Starjumpersix: bat'leth. Needless to say, I'm at the disadvantage so far as range goes. But he doesn't know my style of fighting. He gives me a few good cuts and I'm returning in kind for a good minute before my +

Vilaina@Starjumpersix: secured we claim our own victory, and move on."
Ardet@12guageshotgun: *shrugs and stands* guess I don't have much choice tonight, either the firewine or the peer pressure, this was about 12 years ago,
Ardet@12guageshotgun: actually my first assigment in MACO, a group of hostiles had taken control of a station in alpha centauri, actually not far from 31 sierra. we were tasked with regaining control, problem was the +
Ardet@12guageshotgun: defense network in place was rather extensive, and I think the commander decided upon this particular counter in order to scare the hell out of me...
Ardet@12guageshotgun: plan was to get close in EV suits and actually go in through the hull hatches using the debris field to cover our drop off, the defiant class would be a distraction for a few moments and run off when+
Ardet@12guageshotgun: things got real rough.
Ardet@12guageshotgun: so we get the green light and depressurize the airlocks and go flying into the debris field, can see the defiant engage out of the corner of my eye right, so I am not paying attention and clip on
Ardet@12guageshotgun: some of the debris, sends me spiraling, just glad it did not take me out....
Ardet@12guageshotgun: I try to use the stabilizing thrusters, but by the time I get stabilized I am so off course I am exiting the debris field heading straight towards the lounge window...
Ardet@12guageshotgun: so, I look up from the controls on my wrist again and see 2 gorn about your size a couple klingons and I could not make out the other fella. I can't stop, not a chance so I just de magnetize my rifle+
Ardet@12guageshotgun: start blasting at the window hoping not to smack into it, thankfully it worked and they all got spaced.... or so I thought, I crashed right in, skid across the floor and into the bar right as the +
Ardet@12guageshotgun: emergency fields kicked in I look up, and guess who did not go for a ride... one of the gorn and he was NOT happy.
Ardet@12guageshotgun: picks me up and throws me across the room like a rag doll, I have people screaming over the comms, I am flat on my back staring as he stomps over, rifles god knows where, lost it when he threw me so +
Ardet@12guageshotgun: I go for my pistol, point it at the lizard, guess what, damn thing got tore to hell in the debris field, in my panic he closes the gap +
Ardet@12guageshotgun: he picks me up and opens up to bite me, I don't know what the hell possesd me to do it but I shoved the thing down his throat, he let go and it... overloaded...
Ardet@12guageshotgun: *sits back down* apparently they were not very good at controling the station because they were all getting drunk in the lounge when I... crashed the party?
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: stands, "It was back in the grim days after Nero's rage crossed the quadrant
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: "I had just reached the anniversary of my Age of Ascension, and was assigned as second officer on a K'tinga class cruiser."
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: "The fires of revenge for my parents' death burned in my heart as we headed for Nequencia."
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: "The fleet arrived to find a full Romulan blockade force awaiting. They opened fire on us at first sight."
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: "The two ships to port were destroyed, and a torpedo barrage damaged our navigational deflector. Leaving us vulnerable to debris."
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: "I was aft of the bridge when a B'rel wing ripped through the forward bulkhead, drawing out the Captain and helmsman, and incapacitating the first officer."
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: "The ship was moving blind into the fray. I charged to the tactical console and fired all weapons forward, calling on Kahless to guide my aim and clear a path for the ship through the first wave.
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: "The first officer recovered in time to take helm control and right our course, and for the remainder of the battle, we remained untouched.
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: "After the battle, we learned that our strike cleared two D'Deridex cruisers that were converging for a kill shot on the Negh'var to our aft."
Ka'rel@Flynt_DoubleBrook: "It was that day that I learned fortune favors the bold."
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: I'll try to keep it brief...my own memory of the specific events is a bit...hazy.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: This was back when I was CTO on the Magsaysay. We'd responded to a distress call in the Theramore sector, and I'd beamed down with a rescue squad.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: We came to a clearing where we found well, what was left of the people we'd come to rescue...
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: ...so our medic goes to scan one of the bodies...
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: Turns out, they'd been left there for a reason- bait.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: Next thing I know there's an explosion, and half the squad is down, either from the shrapnel or just plain out cold from the concussive blast.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: Me and 2 others, we got lucky, sorta. My phaser rifle took the brunt of the blast, but it was pretty ruined. I still got tagged in the side by some shrapnel, though.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: It was about at that point, when we're reeling...that the hirogen hunting party phases in and starts shooting.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: The good news was- they were pretty lousy shots, all things considered
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: The bad news, there were 5 of them, versus 3 walking wounded.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: Ensign Monroe and Chief Bekk went down after we thinned their numbers, but that still left two. hirogen, who had managed to close the distance with me.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: Lord knows WHY they did they- guess they figured someone leaking like a sieve, alone would be fun pray in close-combat.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: Things...get a bit hazy after that, it all went by in a bit of a blur.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: I DO remember coming to in the Magsaysay's medbay....about 2 hours later.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: Turns out, when the rescue party for OUR rescue party eventually beamed down, they found me, and the hirogen's bodies...as well as a phaser rifle that'd be snapped in two by blunt force trauma.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: Best they could figure...I'd beat them down with it...
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: *shrugs*
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: Fight or flight's a funny thing.
Gardner@LoonyEclipse: "Slainte"
