Now that hszmv is settled in as a Pathfinder, it's time to start taking applications for the vacant post of the IC admiral character. The conditions and restrictions for applicants hammered out and agreed previously to avoid potential IC conflicts remain valid and will be used as the selection criteria. Nominations will close at midnight, Sunday March 2nd, 2014
Player:
Character:
.
Now, I will repeat the warnings from the previous elections: this is a tough job. The second the admiral shows up in a social hub, let alone logs in, they'll be inundated with requests for their time. They may never even get a chance to RP socially. They may have to make decisions that'll impact other players and such decisions might hurt feelings. This admiral may end up being hated IC by those that serve under him/her. But, that's what the job will entail and the applicants should go into this ready for this burden.
So how will this work? Applicants will submit either an in-game mail or a private message here on the forums to any Pathfinder
explaining why their character AND the player are suited for the job and why they want to take it. Applications will be accumulated for the next seven days, after which a poll will be created and the applicant letters will be posted for all to see, like during the Pathfinder
votes. Good luck.
Player:
- Must not have another character in a position of authority within the 146th command chain, ALA RP ship captains, or Starbase leadership, as well as not being a Pathfinder. Nominees with characters in a position of authority will be required to agree to abdicate that position if they win the election.
- Must understand basic command structure.
- Must be able to make executive decisions.
- Must be able to remain professional, and keep a cool head.
- Must adhere to code of conduct.
- Be able to show discretion.
- Be organized, and have notes/records on things that have been requested.
- Give non RP ship's officers opportunity to be involved in assignments.
- Stick (within reason) to Canon.
- The player must be able to take time out of their schedule and private RP simply to see/be seen by members of the fleet.
- Must be able to multitask, whereby watching their RP as well as OOC channels.
- Must be approachable both IC and OOC, and willing to talk to people in both capacities.
- Must follow through!
- Must be willing to work with players, within reason of canon, to move an RP forward. Should not impede an RP unless there is justifiable reason, such as an outcome that would gravely affect lore... like blowing up the starbase.
Character:
- Must have a (thorough) knowledge of Starfleet Directives and General Orders.
- Must be able to manage non RP ships and assign them orders and assignments.
- Be able to take the lead on non-rp ship character career advancements.
- Give non-RP ships' officers opportunity to be involved in assignments
.
