"FNN Special Report! We go now to Selkra, on location at the Risian Lohlunat Festival."
*The screen changes to a scene of the Risian resort in the background with a middle aged benzite woman dressed in a summery dress with a microphone, next to her stands what passes for a Risian official wearing close to nothing*
"Thanks Dave, this is Selkra and I'm here with Jovan, from the Lohlunat Festival Council to talk about some troubling news. Mister Jovan is it true that you've lost contact with one of your Risian Cruise-liners?"
*The male Risian puts on a friendly smile and turns to face the Camera, looking a bit unsure of where he's supposed to be looking*
"Yes, that is correct Selkra. The Gilded Lady, one of our Cruisers has not reported in for several days now. Not since we received a distress signal from her en route to the Klingon Empire after a stop at Khitomer."
*Selkra looks concerned and puts a hand on Jovan's shoulder*"Very troubling news indeed, Mister Jovan. From what we understand the Gilded Lady was passing through the Xeranthine Sector; that area is notorious for its Pirate and Raider activities. Can you explain why you would risk sending a vessel through that region?"
*Jovan frowns for the first time since he was on screen*"We never expected our vessels to be targeted, we are peaceful. We just want everyone to have equal chances to make it to our beautiful festival and enjoy all that Risa has to offer. The thought that some Pirate would choose to attack us when we freely offer what is ours... I can't understand it."
*Selkra moves a bit closer to the Camera as Jovan moves off into the background, obviously upset.*"There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Naivety has it's price and Risa is paying it. The question now is; What is Starfleet doing about it? I for one send my hopes out for those poor souls aboard the Gilded Lady. This is Selkra reporting. Back to you Dave." *FNN Logo splashes back across the screen.*

*Snappy music plays as the FNN logo splashes across the screen*"FNN Special News Report." *The screen changes to a view of a long desk with two humanoids sitting at it; a male Human any regular viewer would know as Dave Franklin the stations head anchor, to his left sits his co-anchor a Denobulan female known as Treesel Molth.*"Good evening ladies, gentlemen, and other assorted genders," Dave starts as soon as the snappy music ends, "recently we had a story about an unfortunate incident concerning a Risian Cruiseliner; the RXS Gilded Lady. Well we here at FNN are happy to report that the crew and passengers of the ship have been found by some heroic Freighter crew deep in the Hromi Sector." "That's right viewers, the freighter named Lightning Bug discovered the crew in a group of escape shuttles landed upon a moon in the Veyga System while making routine cargo stops in the area." The seemingly permanently smiling Denobulan chimes in. "I'd say those people are lucky to be alive, Treesel," Dave adds with a glance at his co-worker, "it's not often we here at FNN get to report a happy ending when the story involves Pirates and Raiders. I have to say it's a nice change of pace." "That it is, Dave." Treesel agrees, smiling deliberately at the camera. "We have Selkra on Risa with the Captains of the Lightning Bug and Gilded Lady. Let's see what they have to say." *The screen changes from the news room to a scene of Risa, the resort in the background and the sun hanging low in the distance*
"Thanks Treesel, this is Selkra still on location at the Lohlunat Festival on Risa and joining me here is Captain Reynard Malcom of the Lightning Bug, and Captain Galin formerly of the Gilded Lady. Gentlemen I bet you're both very happy to be here safe, on Risa." *Both men nod; the Risian scantily clad as is traditional for them and his short hair cut close. The second man, a rugged looking Human in a long coat looks a bit uncomfortable whether from the heat or the camera is unclear.*
"As for you Captain Galin, it must have been quite experience, would you like OT tell us what happened?" Selkra quizzes the man with a friendly smile. The captain turns to face the camera a bit and shakily talks, "They came out of nowhere, man. We didn't even get a chance to try and escape or anything. There were at least three ships. One of em was crazy wicked lookin' too, like a big hand comin' to grab us." The flamboyant man makes motions with his hands to relay his story more clearly, or at least that was his intent as he made one hand into a claw and grabbed his other hand. "They took out our shields and engines pretty quick and then we got hailed. They warned us not to like try and resist. We just did what the lady said and we all made it out alive." He relays the tale and nods as he goes. "They took the Lady and towed her off while we were left there in the shuttles, it was wack." "Wack indeed." Selkra cuts him off and turns to the camera once more. "These sound like some pretty organized Pirates, and I for one wonder what exactly they wanted with a Cruiseliner." She contemplates before turning toward the second man in the scene. "Captain Malcom, how does it feel to be a hero?" The second man shifts uncomfortably and shakes his head, "Ma'am I ain't no hero, I just happened to be in the area and found these folks. If it weren't me it woulda been another Freighter most likely. That area is pretty common for cargo runs." "You heard that ladies and gentlemen, a hero and humble." Selkra moves to the side to cut the men from the view. "Happy news after a rather bad Festival for the Risian people this year. Despite record high attendence they lost a vessel to Pirates and the planet was attacked by a force of unknown assailants. Information about the attacks is still being suppressed by Starfleet officials who are unavailable for comment." Selkra scowls, "I for one find all of this very concerning. Back to you Dave, Treesel." *The screen returns to the desk where the two Anchors exchange a worried look before returning to the usual news.*

*Dramatic Music Plays as the FNN Logo appears* Announcer: This is an FNN Breaking News Story. Here is Sheira zh'Shela *A Zhan Andorian appears on screen* Sheria: Good evening. Late word into FNN News Rooms. In an unprecedented move, Rator III have officially denounced the detonation of some kind of weapon in the Rolor Nebula, saying quote: The Romulan Star Empire denounces the use of this weapon. Such a weapon was not authorized by anyone in our government, and was carried out by the Rogue Tal Shiar agent General S'harien S'taralyn. Sheria: Joining me now is Senior Romulan Correspondent, Slakut. *A male Reman wearing light blocking goggles appears on screen* Slakut, welcome to the show. Slakut: Thank you, Sheria. Sheria: Slakut, how big is this. Slakut: This is huge, Sheria. Look, Rator doesn't do this. They still have Tal Shiar agents going into New Romulus and other locations to carry out terrorist attacks. Now they have an agent who has done something so incredible they are washing their hands of this. Sheria: Why do they think that is? Slakut: Well, it should be obvious. Look, the Star Empire has been surviving because the Klingons and the Federation have been at war. With the peace treaty, and the talk of alliance, guess who's really worried. Look, the Star Empire is dying and they know it. They cannot fight both the Federation and the Klingons and both of those governments have expressed outrage over whatever is going on out there. Sheria: This is the same S'harien that was captured a year ago? Slakut: Yes. And he was broken out during the Embassy Bombings and fled back into the Star Empire. Look, whatever happened out there has clearly pissed off the Federation, Klingon Empire, and Romulan Republic. You just don't see statements like this. What is likely happening is Rator is looking to the neutral zone, seeing the build up that's been happening there in recent days, and collectively kissed their rear ends. Sheria: Do you think they will hand over S'harien? Slakut: At this point, they have not, which says one of two things: Either they are hiding him, or they have no idea where he is next. Starfleet right now, is giving Rator the benefit of the doubt, so what is more likely is that S'harien is hiding elsewhere in the quadrant. Sheria: Thank you, Slakut. Coming up next, we'll have continuing coverage of the Neutral Zone build up and, joining us in studio, Grumpy Eppoh and his owner. We'll be right back. *Outro music plays.*

*The FNN Logo splashes across the screen with some snappy music* "FNN Special Report!"
*The screen changes to a view of a long desk with two humanoids sitting at it; a male Human any regular viewer would know as Dave Franklin the stations head anchor, to his left sits his co-anchor a Denobulan female known as Treesel Molth.*
"Good evening ladies, gentlemen, and other assorted genders," Dave delivers his usual greeting as soon as the snappy music ends. "We bring sad news today..." he trails off.
Treesel picks up where he left off with a somber face, "More than three thousand reported deaths in the wake of a surprise attack on a Lorillia Four colony." She straightens the papers in front of her and looks at the viewer, "Lorillia was once a little known Federation World that was destroyed by the Borg in Twenty Three Eighty One. Lorillia Four was an attempt to recolonize the region in the past ten years and was beginning to become an important hub for trade in the region."
Dave nods sadly, "Experts say it could take years for the Lorillia Four Colony to recuperate from this attack, but my real question is why was it attacked?" Dave stares at the viewer with his mustache bristling gloriously in anger.
"Why indeed, Dave." Treesel answers, "The attack was carried out by several Klingon Defense Force vessels that recently were declared traitors by the High Council following a recent declaration that they would; and I quote, 'Correct the mistakes of the Klingon Government.'" The denobulan shakes her head in a manner of resignation, "We here at FNN will keep you up t date with any further news on the situation."

"That they should, Dave," Treesel chimes in as she continues where he left off, "we have received reports of another attack that is believed to be perpetrated by the same group that assaulted Lorillia." She sits a bit forward. "The target of the marauding force this time was Spacedock 57 in the Cestus System. This facility was heavily utilized during the war with the Klingon Empire but has seen far less use of late."
Dave nods, "I don't know about you Treesel but I don't like it." The human man turns slightly in his seat and faces the screen, "According to released information the Spacedock and all vessels currently utilizing it were destroyed. Casualties are expected to be in the area of Two Thousand." He sighs softly, "We will bring more details on casualties and vessels lost as we receive them."
Treesel chimes up after a sufficient moment of silence, "Now we join Rol'ee for the CosmiCast Report."

"Further news on the Traitor Tracker..." The screen behind them changes to state that Traitor Tracker is brought to you by Slug-o-Cola. "... Contacts within the Romulan Republic have confirmed rumors that several border satellites along the Psi Velorum Border were destroyed in attacks by the Klingon Traitors."
Treesel shakes her head, "This brings the number of confirmed attacks to three." The Denobulan looks down at her papers a moment, "We've also received information that at least one patrol of Militia vessels were engaged by the Traitorous forces. No information as to the outcome at this time."
Dave adjusts himself to turn and lean an elbow on the desk, "We now return you to your regularly scheduled entertainment. Stay tuned to FNN for further updates to Traitor Tracker."

"We bring startling news today, as a freighter crashed on Betazed, destroying numerous city blocks in Rixx. The current death toll is estimated at one hundred and twenty, but is expected to rise due to the significant number of missing in the rubble."
*The camera shifts to Treesel, then periodically shows images of a major crash site in Betazed's capital city* "Civil authorities are baffled as to why the decommissioned D'kyr class ship lost control from standard orbit. The planetary defense systems were unable to respond after the ship emitted a distress call and decayed into the atmosphere. Members of the Fifth House have appealed to Starfleet to assist in the investigation into what is currently believed a tragic accident, according to a local source speaking anonymously to FNN."
*Dave Franklin reappears onscreen* "FNN will continue to monitor the situation and deliver updates as we are given them"
*Outro music plays and normal programming resumes*

*The FNN Logo splashes across the screen with some snappy music* "We bring you an FNN Special Report!" The screen changes to a view of a long desk with two humanoids sitting at it; a male Human any regular viewer would know as Dave Franklin the stations head anchor, to his left sits his co-anchor a Denobulan female known as Treesel Molth.“Good evening. The main news story tonight: The expansion of the Breen Confederacy past established borders. Could this be the beginning of a resurgent attack on the Deferi People?” The image shifts to depict a Breen Chel Grett cruiser facing off with a Starfleet Nebula Class cruiser“Earlier today, sources from an unaffiliated trading corporation operating in and around the Deferi Sector reported running across a Breen Cruiser in the Rolor Nebula, less than a single days travel from the Deferi Homeworld. When the Breen cruiser realised it was detected, it quickly left the area back towards Breen. Sources within Starfleet have neglected to comment on this, but our affiliate stations on Bajor have reported a sudden increase in training drills for the fleet stationed at Deep Space Nine and several support and reserve fleets in the area. Also of note is the redeployment of the U.S.S. Renown to the area, along with several escort ships. As always, we will endeavour to bring you any information as it comes in… Outro music plays and normal programming resumes shortly after[/quote]

*The FNN Logo splashes across the screen with snappy music* "FNN Special Report! We go now to Selkra on location on Bajor."
*The screen changes to a view of the Haathon fountain with Selkra; the station's Benzite reporter, standing before it* "Thank you Dave. As you can see I am on Bajor where things have been very tense for the past month now. It seems the locals can finally breath now that the looming threat of Cardassian attack has ended after their assault was rebuffed by combined allied arms." She motions around to some relaxed looking Bajorans enjoying the fountain. "I've been here on Bajor reporting on the situation for the last two weeks and as you all know Federation officials have informed us that a supposed Obsidian Order militant group had arisen to power and performed a coup on Cardassia. Holding its own people hostage to protect them from allied confrontation. These same militants assaulted Bajor with allied Tholians and Romulan Empire Navy." She takes a moment to let this all sink in as if it isn't all old news, "The real question in my mind is, how did this happen without Starfleet noticing? Our ever vigilant protectors, are they really as ever vigilant as the President would like us to believe?"
*The screen changes with a snappy transition music to the FNN news desk and Dave*
"Thank you Selkra, keep up the good work on Bajor. Coming up next. Let's see Ol'e about the storm forecast for the Bajor sector and DS9."

*Snappy music plays as the FNN logo splashes across the screen* "FNN News Emergency Report!" *The screen changes to the usual view of the long desk with two humanoids sitting at it; a male Human any regular viewer would know as Dave Franklin the stations head anchor, to his left sits his co-anchor a Denobulan female known as Treesel Molth. Both look a bit bedraggled.* "Sorry for interrupting your regular programming folks but we just received this report." Dave chimes once the snappy music ends. The human looks down at the papers before him and shakes his head, "sources from the Federation Central Bureau of Penology have released a statement about a coordinated terrorist attack on several Federation Rehabilitation Centers." Treesel pipes up, "They go on to explain that something along the lines of one hundred and seventeen inmates have escaped between the three facilities that were attacked." The Denobulan has a look of concern on her usually jovial face, "They urge the public not to panic as they are coordinating with Starfleet to do everything they can to see the inmates returned to justice." Dave sets the papers down on the desk once more after looking at them closely while Treesel spoke, "The facilities attacked are known as Tantalus Colony, Jaros II stockade, and the Elba II Asylum. These facilities house criminals from all throughout the Federation and allied regions. No details were given as to who those who escaped are nor what terrorist organization performed the attacks." "We'll have more information on that as we receive it." Treesel buts in, "We'll now return you to your regularly scheduled programming." *The screen changes back to antiquities roadhouse as two Ferengi bicker over a golden statue of a Vulcan woman.*

"FNN Special News Report. We go now to Selkra, on location at the memorial service for the lives lost aboard the U.S.S. Himalaya." *The screen changes to a nondescript Starfleet starbase interior room where Selkra stands in a formal outfit with her microphone, the entry to another room in the background where the Memorial service is likely being held.*
"This is Selkra, as you can see I am coming to you from Starbase 257 where friends, family, and fellow officers mourn and commemorate the lives and service of those lost in battle with what are suspected to have been True Way terrorists who assaulted several Federation penal colonies a few weeks back." The Benzite peers back at the doorway and its two dress uniformed guards, "As many of you may already know from our continued coverage of this attack our sources have found that the attacks were carried out by a very small number of Cardassian terrorists, none of which were captured." Selkra shakes her head mournfully, "Starfleet Admirals have refused to make nay comment on the matter of worth." The woman lets that sink in before she speaks again, "There has still been no statement released by any organization to claim responsibility for the assault. Most experts seem to be in agreement that it was the True Way or the supposed Obsidian Order movement that has declared martial law over the Cardassian Union." The woman looks expectantly at the door a moment, "In related news that supports the theory of True Way involvement there have been several reports from traders having seen large groups of Cardassian vessels on the move throughout the Alpha Quadrant. Could this be a foreboding of an attack to come? Or perhaps does the True Way, whom we were led to believe were being crushed by this Obsidian Order movement, are planning to mount a counter attack?" "Either way I grow nervous. This has been Selkra for FNN."

"FNN Special News Report. We go directly to news footage from C.U.B.N." *The screen changes to a scene overlooking Cardassia Prime. A Male Cardassian in a well tailored suit stands with his microphone, a tall female Cardassian in a uniform identifying her as Cardassian Security Officer.* The man begins in a deep voice, "We are live at the entrance to the home of Councilor Ralim Tudok of the Detapa council. Here to answer some questions is Investigator Lankel of the Security Division. Thank you for taking the time Investigator." The woman gives a curt nod, "Of course, Sir. We in the Securities Division make it our goal to be open and forward with the people of Cardassia." She turns her head to him as if to give him the go ahead to continue. "We have reports that the Councilman has been found dead in his office. Is this true, Ma'am?" The man goes straight for the question, looking grim. The woman nods with a dour expression and speaks calmly, "That is correct. Councilman Tudok was found in his office. His wounds were fatal and appear to have been self inflicted. We are still investigating to confirm." "Suicide? Really?" The reporter looks legitimately surprised, "Councilor Tudok had recently made big gains in approval after he had denounced the Obsidian Order occupation and helped to pass legislation to increase Self Defense Force activity in the wake of the attack to strengthen our borders against True Way attacks. It seems odd that he would kill himself." The woman nods in agreement but something seems to bother her as the reporter goes on to ask another question. "Has there been any evidence of trouble with the family or other stresses to cause such a harsh decision?" The Investigator shakes her head, "None so far. The Councilman's Wife and Children seem as confused as you are, Sir." She takes in a deep breath, "There was a signed message from the Councilor on his desk. We do not believe foul play was involved." "A message. That is distressing. Do you have any other information for the people of Cardassia at this time Ma'am?" The reporter asks with a final note. The woman seems to debate a moment, "Yes. If the message left behind is to be believed then the Councilman left behind a signed confession to his crimes. He admits to having decided to kill himself due to guilt for betraying his people. The source of this guilt being his secret support of not only The True Way terrorist organization but the Obsidian Order that had occupied our space not a month ago now." As she finishes speaking there is a moment of silence before the weight of the statement hits those around. "That is all." she comments and turns to leave as the other reporters close in, being cut off by junior security officers. The feed ends a moment later as the flurry of movement knocks the camera down.
