Another long day so far since my transfer from the Bajoran Infiltration Taskforce. I've never seen this many system errors before, and this is after having served on a ship that was over a hundred years old. I don;t know the specifics of what's happening on this place but it's definitely not normal. Random music, announcements with no point of origin, power fluctuations, and tons of photonic activity. If I didn't know better I would think the base was possessed by a Pah-wraith.
I can tell this new assignment is not going to be much fun. I know you're testing me Prophets. I'll do my best to persevere.
End of log.

This is all really starting to nag at me. Maybe it's just the stress from the reassignment and the work load but I feel like we're missing something huge. "Mimir" The name has to be important. Norse mythology is some grim stuff from what I've studied these past few hours. Death is not uncommon and would explain this Intelligence propensity for it. A lot of it reminds me of Klingon Mythology. Steeped in blood, tradition, prophecy, and battle.
What really stands out to me though is the symbolism of a disembodied head. If Mimir think of himself as a head; or we can assume this to mean Intelligence, with no body. What was his "body" that he once had? Was Mimir once part of a larger system? We know he was damaged. I fear it's not that simple and that the answer will not be one I like.
For now I'll keep researching and hope my fears that Mimir is some kind of non-artificial intellect; or spirit, torn from its body and put into a machine... I hope I'm wrong because if not I feel bad for it.
