In the past year, the fleet as a whole has seen a number of changes in how we do things, how the game content affects us, and even changes in the faces we see in the fleet. And there has been a growing number of people who are asking if there isn't something more we could be doing to improve the quality of the experience of fleet membership, and roleplaying as a whole. And that's what we're going to be addressing moving forward.
We really haven't stepped back to re-evaluate ourselves since we first picked up the name Storytellers. Yes, there's been a reorganization of the forum, and the beginning of a documentation project to give our fleet members a reliable resource for rules, guidelines, and fleet lore. But as the game changes, and as the membership changes with old friends departing and fresh faces joining the family, the fleet needs to evaluate some things, and change what is necessary in order to grow as a community of roleplayers. We're not talking “earth-shattering upheaval” kind of changes, but refinements or changes to how we do things to make for a better experience.
We started with the discussion on fleet forum membership, followed by a vote on the matter. There will be a series of discussions moving forward, based on the most common topics or issues that have been brought to the Pathfinders over the past year. Some may seem to be minor things, but we're opening discussion on them due to the number of people who have asked about each one. Each new discussion opening shortly after the previous one ends. And any topic that will involve a major change will not simply be decided arbitrarily, but will be given to the fleet to vote upon.
We've long said that every member of the fleet has a voice and a vote. It's time for those voices to be heard, in the opening of these discussions and the votes where the matters will require one. I look forward to seeing the thoughts and ideas in these discussions as we progress as a fleet and as a community.
