"Captain's Log: Stardate 91644.7
"The San Francisco has arrived at Starbase 146 for shore leave and minor maintenance. In regards to our encounter with the Romulan and Klingon ships from two days ago, I'm told that the local admiral's schedule is full and she'll see me when she can. I suppose 'freelancers' have to wait their turns, which is understandable; if some ensign from another ship asked for my time, I'd tell them to take a number. Our expected time here is one week.
"And in further news of our little mystery, Lieutenant N'iss informs me that Starfleet records has no match of the partial warp signatures of the combatants we encountered from known Republic or Klingon vessels. Maybe this could simply be explained away as pirates in stolen or surplus ships, but the House of Karag angle still nags at me.
"Or I'm adverse to taking a vacation. Thanks to Doctor Bett and Counselor zh'Jalleen, I ain't gettin' away with that excuse this time..."

"Captain's Log: Stardate 91675.9
"Starfleet's responded to our inquiries for information on Salen Mal, the Bajoran trader who seems to be our best bet at findin' out if Karag's forces have returned from the Delta Quadrant. According to intelligence records, Salen pulled out of the Alpha Quadrant all together several months ago, includin' all trade deals and bank accounts and now seems to be operatin' along the Federation/Klingon border, an area he went out of his way to avoid in years past. We've also learned that his ship, the Wayward Sun, makes frequent stops at Treasure Trading Station in the Argelius system; a favored locale of smugglers. The San Francisco's been authorized to head there and question Salen about any dealin's with the House of Karag and why their forces have been attacking ships on this side of the galaxy..."

"Captain's Log: Stardate 91776.7
"Durin' our normal patrol of the Breen border, the Romulan Republic sent out a notice that one of their warbirds, the Saratan, had gone missin'. The U.S.S. Gyrfalcon II and the Orion ship Nexia's Command found it first, sittin' right smack dab on the border. To avoid detection by Breen patrols, I led a team of Marines from the U.S.S. Claren over to the Saratan where we downloaded its records and returned to the San Francisco without incident..."

"Captain's Log: Stardate 91892.3
"Forces of the Terran Empire have seized Starbase 146. The starships San Francisco, Augustus, and Harding evacuated all civilian and non-essential personnel and fled with the rest of the 146th Fleet to Deep Space 9. We're offloadin' our passengers to the station and sending the overflow to Bajor via shuttlecraft. Any talk of retakin' the starbase is premature at this point, but I'm of a mind to throw my hat in the ring to help with that..."

"Captain's Log: Stardate 91941.8
"The San Francisco rendezvoused with the I.K.S. Korrd, flagship of Governor Ka'rel of the Archanis Sector. We discussed the current situation with the House of Karag, includin' our belief that Karag is in fact K'Jal, an actor impersonatin' the actual Karag on behalf of Rhetok of the House of Krann. The governor gave us access to the Klingon medical database to see if there's anythin' there that can be used to identify K'Jal; Doctor Bett's goin' over it now. Ka'rel intends to take his nephew K'Vok directly to Qo'noS to challenge the claim that K'Vok illegally broke into Karag's castle, hopin' that'll draw the fraud out in the open. We're on course for Jarkonis to warn them about what's goin' on. Afterwards, Ka'rel suggested we track down a former Romulan operative named Arcen Xivix, who might be able to debunk the claims made in Karag's announcement from last week..."

"Captain's Log: Supplemental
"The San Francisco has departed Jarkonis II and is now on course for the Klingon homeworld. After speakin' with Jarkoni president Sarien, I am convinced that Rhetok is not going to attack there. He'd be foolish to; the planetary defense screen is still operational and by the time Rhetok figured out how to circumvent it, Ka'rel's fleet and the Min Zife's battle group would be on top of him. And more importantly, it's too obvious and obvious is somethin' Rhetok isn't. And I'm convinced he already has what he wants: revenge against Karag for takin' the House of Krann which he stood to inherit. He didn't just want Karag dead, he wanted to destroy his name, his life, which by usin' K'Jal as an impostor he has.
"Dr. Bett's still pourin' over the Klingon medical database to see if there's any way to reveal K'Jal for who he is. If she can and we can get to the High Council with this proof, maybe we can put an end to all this..."

"Captain's Personal Log: Stardate 91991.1
Sometimes the best ideas come to you with just a little nudge from a friend. Think I might have come up with a way to neutralize Admiral Korax of the Terran Empire thanks to somethin' developed durin' Operation: Delta Risin'. I've got Doctor Bett lookin' into the feasibility of this screwy little plan of mine, but even if I'm right, the real trick will be implementin' it in such a way that not only takes Bad Spots out of the equation, but throws her forces into chaos at the same time. If she's the badass Tiana says she is, then this plan will take her out of play. If she ain't and someone more competent takes her place, then we'd better hope the transition ain't a pretty one..."
