-Tasaria Information-
High Gravity, 19m/s^2
The Tasaria System is a Binary Star System. The sole habitable world in the system is Tasaria, a large, high gravity planet with a surface gravity of 19 m/s^2, or about 1.9 G’s, which orbits Tasaria A (T-A) with a year equivalent to .95 Earth years, while Tasaria B(T-B) orbits outside of Tasaria. Tasaria A is a K-5 class star(Like Sol but redder in color, less UV radiation) , while Tasaria B is a A-8 class star(White Dwarf, much dimmer then T-A, but emitting larger amounts of UV radiation), meaning that for the portion of the Tasarian year where it isn’t on the opposite side of T-A, Tasarian nights are brighter, as T-B acts almost like a second moon in the sky. T-B is a white dwarf star, and it is theorized that it was captured by T-A, its orbit stabilized by the systems two gas giants, Iruna and Tasvald, over 10 million years ago, just as life was forming on Tasaria. Because of the time of its arrival, its UV radiation was quite harmful to the developing plant life, which had not developed a strong UV resistance as T-A didn’t put out a lot of radiation in that spectrum. Consequently, a series of plants developed on Tasaria, which most later plant life evolved from. The original plants had two benefits over their doomed plant brothers. First, their primary pigment was purple, which helped to reflect a lot of the higher energy band UV rays. Second, they produced a genetic modification that made the protein Tavlisine, which absorbed UV radiation. This protein was eventually inherited by all life on Tasaria. In plants, Tavlisine also promotes the growth of dense vertical plant cells, and is the primary reason why most Tasarian plants are well over 10 feet tall before they start to produce fruit, and even then, their leaves on concentrated near the tops of the plants.
Tavlisine has the unique property of giving Tasarian food its distinctly delicious taste. Unfortunately, Tavlisine, when ingested in sufficient quantities, is mildly toxic to most other humanoid races, and as such it is not recommended that anyone who isn’t Tasarian try their foods and drinks.
Because of the height of the plant life on Tasaria, Evolution had to find a way to both survive on plant life and deal with the excessive gravity of the planet. As such, most animal life on Tasaria is tall, or capable of climbing the tall plants. In both cases, animals developed extremely dense musculoskeletal structures, which is why the average height of a Tasarian is anywhere from 7’3” to 8’6”, with weights anywhere from 350 pounds to 575 pounds, respectively.
The Tasaria System is located deep in the Alpha Quadrant, close to the outer rim of the galaxy, which makes traveling there a very time consuming task. Swanson Technologies group will be completing a two way transwarp gateway between Tasaria and the Keldas System within the next 2 years.
-Tasarian Civilization-
Tasarian civilization evolved at a much slower pace then Earth Civilization, which contributed to extended periods of scientific research. and in the Tasarian year 3544, Genetics research accidentally produced a Mutagenic virus which wiped out the entire male population of the Tasarians, and made female Tasarians unable to reproduce by the fertilization of eggs after the egg had fully developed. To counter the population crisis that arose, Scientists developed a second mutation, which worked almost to perfection. It was designed to allow Tasarians to exchange genetic information with their now all-female partners over a temporary neural bond, allowing the dominant mate to produce an embryo by combining the genetic material of both partners as an egg was created. It did however cause Tasarian blood to also be filled with a biochemical that emits light in the presence of strong neural activity, which is visible as glowing eyes. That happened over 3000 years ago by the Tasarian calendar. Over time, Tasarian evolution became quite favorable towards them, with present day lifespans of close to 400 Earth years, and intelligence across the species a bit higher then the Federation average.
Among Tasarians, the most common hair color is a red-orange, followed by black, followed by blue. Green is the dominant eye color, with yellow and blue eyes being the minority. Tasarians, when on more normal gravity worlds or ships, move with a strong, flowing grace, due to their strength. Additionally, Tasarian culture is very open to the use of sex as a recreational activity.
Tasarians go through three stages in their 400 year lifespans. The first stage, Kr’Mun, occurs from birth until about 90 years of age. During this stage, Tasarians go through their childhood, and their bodies develop. Tasarian puberty is a long process, usually lasting from the age of 18 to the age of 30. It is also during the Kr’Mun stage that Tasarians spend most of their time in school, from when they are 7 years old until they are 37 years old. After that, they may choose whatever career or profession they wish. During this stage, they are guided by their parents.
The second stage, Tamlun, starts at around 90 years of age. The start of this stage is signified by a Tasarians ears developing pointy ear tips. During this stage, their bodies have finished developing, and their brains undergo a short burst of exponential development. When their brains have developed sufficiently, they undergo the ritual of Jormund. This ritual, which when translated means “Unlocking of the bond”, unlocks the ability of a Tasarians now developed brain to form a mental bond with others, much like a Vulcan mind meld, but the primary purpose of the bond for Tasarians is reproduction. It is then during the rest of their Tamlun stage where they are in the prime of their lives, and are the most inventive, creative, philosophic, and intelligent they will be. They find mates, and have children.
The third and final stage is Harmol, which typically starts at the age of 300, and is the one they are in for the rest of our lives. During this stage, they pursue long sought interests and curiosities, practice the arts, and guide their children through their own Tamlun stage.
The Tasarians are not yet a member race of the Federation, although they have applied to be. Diplomatic relations have been slow given the systems distance from allied space, but with the completion of the transwarp gateway to the system, Relations are expected to grow significantly.

Species – Tasarian
Occupation – Researcher, owner of Swanson Technologies group
-Angel Bio-
Angel is an engineer and a scientist, developing technologies and then selling them, often to the Alliance or various merchant groups. Her company owns a small moon in the Beta Quadrant, and operates out of that location. The company has several ships, all at or above Alliance specification, headed by the company flagship, the Valkyrie.
Angel was born in the city of Honchou, in the Tasarian year 3316. Her name in Tasarian Common Speak is actually Lothmuria Spirldas, but when she chose to start her R&D company, she chose the name Angelina Swanson, which is the most literal translation of her Tasarian name, and much easier for people to pronounce and remember.
When she finished school at the age of 37, she had already developed a strong passion for science and engineering, and applied to join the Tasarian Space Navy. She spent the next 60 years in the navy, eventually recieving the rank of Rear Admiral before she decided her real calling was Research and Development, and she purchased a warp capable starship from the Navy, which she and a few other friends took to Federation space to start Swanson Technologies Group. Her parents had a strong business background, and taught her a lot, which helped her grow the company over the last 20 years to what it is today. Swanson Technologies Group, or STG, specializes in long term science data collection, computer and artificial intelligence systems, EPS grids and related components, and high-energy weapon design. The company operates several starships, the flagship of which is the STSV Valkyrie, a completely remodeled Yamato-class Dreadnought, with a focus on small crew size and large functional interior spaces, made possible by the companies primary networked AI, ARIA, who runs most of the ship.
STG is based on the largest moon of Keldas III, and takes up the majority of the moons surface with labs, factories, research areas, and spaceports. They also have a large orbital shipyard that is used for retrofits, maintaining their own fleet, and building entirely new ships.
