"Personal Log: Supplemental
"So it turns out that Caldwall did in fact sabotage Starbase 8's defenses during his escape. And in trying to override it, the station's crew accidentally triggered an even more massive overload that nearly destroyed the base. Still don't know why the baffle plate ruptured; the internal cameras were offline when it did. But what Caldwall said still troubles me; that Chechaka was part of a larger effort to militarize Starfleet and UESPA, that the current state of affairs with the Klingons justified it. I know the rhetoric from the likes of Admiral Marcus have been hawkish of late, but to use a threat to the Federation as a pretext to annex a primitive planet? That's certainly not the Federation I know.
"Oh well. I've given the crew three days of shore leave at the base before we head out again. And I should thank whoever at personnel it was responsible for this...fascinating coincidence I find myself dealing with..."

"Our survey of System L2815, the second planet of which rich in kemocite, was cut short by the arrival of a Klingon warship. Its captain stated that the Empire had laid claim to the system and after trading fire due to what the Klingon commander termed 'a misunderstanding,' the Midway withdrew.
"Unfortunately, this isn't the first such 'misunderstanding,' as armed confrontations between the Klingons and Federation forces are now on the rise. From the Disputed Zone to the Taurus Reach, tensions on both sides are running high and while negotiations are ongoing, there's a pessimistic part of me fearing all this coming to a head..."

"Captain's Log: Supplemental
"We arrived at Colony Beta 7 only to find it obliterated; all 37,000 souls on the planet dead. Another distress signal was received from the mining outpost on Sigma Delta VIII and at maximum speed we were able to reach it before a mysterious pyramid shaped craft could extinguish its population of 20,000. The Midway intercepted the vessel on course for the Sherman system. With all hails unanswered and the population there in jeopardy, I was left with no choice to engage the ship. However, after causing moderate damage, the vessel seemed to suddenly become immune to our weapons; full spreads of photon torpedoes were no longer having any affect.
"Before we could beam over a container of antimatter with a timed fuse, the vessel opened up a portal in time and vanished. The purpose of the wanton slaughter of thousands of innocents, unknown. Its point and time of origin, unknown. Wherever that thing went, I hope it stays there. I don't know how we could stop it if it came back..."

"Captain's Log: Stardate 2410.8
"While in route to System M-1673, the Midway received word from Starbase 8 of a mysterious rogue planet on their long range sensors near the system, designated R-191. Upon achieving orbit, we found a world stripped of its atmosphere with signs of habitation on the surface. A landing party consisting of myself, Science Officer T'Lor, Engineer Ivanov, Navigator Rey, and Helmsman Donovan beamed down. We discovered the wreck of the SS Fifeshire, an Earth colony ship reported missing in an ion storm a century and a half ago. The ship appeared to have landed and formed a community around the remains of the Fifeshire; a community frozen by the elements by whatever force that caused R-191 to go rogue.
"There were only two survivors now, youths named Eva and Zacka who referred to themselves as Gaians, who reacted to our presence with hostility. They called us Sun Stealers and Theians, blaming us for what happened. Unable to convince them to come with us to safety, we had no choice to but to leave them behind. Our current theory as that these Theians are inhabitants of M-1673 and somehow caused the disaster on R-191. After leaving behind marker buoys at the request of the starbase, we're setting a course for that system to investigate further..."

"Captain's Log: Supplemental
"Upon our arrival at System M-1673, the Midway detected three Orion Interceptor-class ships hiding with the local asteroid belt...and readings of minerals including dilithium crystals on the surface of an inhabited Class-M planet. According Counsellor Pel, leader of the community on the surface, the Orions were there to offer protection from Klingon aggression. This made sense because according to Science Officer T'Lor, the indigenous population are of the Arin'sen species, whose colony worlds were subjugated by the Klingon Empire over a century ago. Since the Orion Colonies claim total neutrality in galactic affairs, naturally I was suspicious.
"Upon beaming down, our landing party discovered an Orion woman named Maela holding an Arin'sen female, Pel's daughter, at gunpoint. Said daughter alleged that Maela was using her pheremones to coerce Pel into cutting a deal with the Orions. Thanks to an...immunity I picked up years ago, I was able to resist her charms and disarm Maela. Freed from the pheremones' influence, Pel demanded Maela to leave and with the Midway sitting in orbit, she more than enough incentive to comply.
"Negotiations with the Arin'sen are onging, but I'm confident a deal can be struck. After all these months of searching for a new source of dilithium for the Federation, I feel like we just won the lottery..."

The Midway pursued, disabled the Fed...ship, and a boarding party regained control. The leader of the hijackers, a Commander Aerv, surrendered while stating this action occurred without sanction by his government. He and his followers have been transferred to the starship Enterprise to be taken to the nearest starbase prior to extradition to the Romulan Empire.

"A mysterious object intercepted the Midway and abducted the crew. We found ourselves in a village, dressed in various, bizarre costumes and with a few other...interesting quirks. And we weren't alone; crews from ships from all over this part of the galaxy had suffered the same fate and forced by a seemingly malevolent entity to do combat to win our freedom.
"Choosing not to play this sick game, what members of the crew were close by took cover and soon found a mysterious power source in the village. Gambling that disabling this might free us from this nightmare, we rigged a futuristic-looking tricorder in T'Lor's possession to explode and once it did, the entity was revealed. And what was already unbelievable became even more so.
"Our captor was a powerful entity called Xexe. Upon his plan being ruined, another entity claiming to be his child arrived. Xexe was experiencing what can best be described as dementia brought on by old age in his species. His child returned us to the Midway back to our normal selves. It's discomforting that even the godlike can succumb to the ravages of time.
"We've resumed our previous course, none the worse for wear and with...many new perspectives on zhizn'...er...life..."

"Captain's Log: 3281.5
"On approach to System Theta Upsilon, USS Midway was intercepted by a Klingon warship. After several close passes ostensibly to intimidate us, the Klingons fired a mysterious weapon at us that hampered our warp drive. After trading fire, we caused sufficient damage to force the Klingons to withdraw. Engineering has shut down the warp drive in order to diagnose just what the Klingons struck us with. Science Officer T'Lor reported a magnetic resonance trace on our engines and antimatter pods that in theory was intended to slow us down. I only hope Commander Ivanov can restore full warp capacity before our next encounter with the Klingon Empire..."

"With Chief Engineer Ivanov critically injured after the attack by the Klingons, Science Officer T'Lor assisted in purging our warp drive of the effects of the magnetic charge weapon. With reinforcements well behind us, the Midway set off for Theta Upsilon under orders to reach there before the Klingons, who were concerned about a 'complication' that might interfere with their claiming the system. Although no habitable planet or other stellar body was detected, a moon of the system's lone gas giant contained elements used in weapons manufacturing.
"But below us within the gas giant's rings was something we did not anticipate: the Earth starship Avalon, registry NX-12..."

"Captain's Log: Supplemental
"Upon discovering the Avalon, reported missing over a century ago in the Ponor Sector, a boarding party from the Midway beamed over. Based on what we found, the Avalon had come under attack and left with no other alternative triggered a risky imbalance in their warp drive to escape, possibly through a wormhole or some other form of subspace conduit. This unfortunately had the side effect of poisoning the crew with some form of radiation; those that survived abandoned ship but where they are now is unknown.
"During our investigations, two Klingon battle cruisers entered the system and the Midway took shelter in the rings to obscure themselves from detection. Using the Midway as a lure, our boarding party maneuvered the Avalon behind the Klingons and fired off her arsenal of nuclear-armed spatial torpedoes, temporarily disabling them. The Constellation's battle group soon arrived and the Klingons retreated.
"After briefing Commodore Matthew Decker of our findings, he informed me that the incident at Theta Upsilon was but one of several within the disputed zone between the Federation and Klingon Empire. While he believes tensions will ultimately escalate further, our actions in denying Theta Upsilon to the Klingons might force them to the bargaining table. I for one hope the latter is true.
"The Midway's been ordered to tow the Avalon to Starbase 8, where we will complete our repairs and transfer our wounded to the station's medical facilities. The Constellation will remain on station to secure the system for the Federation while the rapid response cruiser Kirov and utility cruiser Seeker conduct a search of Theta Upsilon to learn the final fate of the Avalon's evacuees and perhaps shed some light on this century's old mystery..."

"Captain's Log: Supplemental Entry
"Upon our arrival at Research Station N-5, we discovered that the installation was in a state of emergency, cause unknown. Our boarding party beamed over to discover the station overrun with children: infants, toddlers, pre-adolescents where once there was 181 adults. Computer records indicated that the station's chief researcher, Dr. Melanie White, had brought aboard a child named Kelly White, suffering from a rare cellular degenerative disorder. Dr. White hoped to treat this girl with something discovered within the atmosphere of gas giant L-1831 as part of a 'Life Regeneration Project.' A project Starfleet ordered discontinued and one Dr. White proceeded with nonetheless, resulting in the catastrophe aboard the station. As a precaution, I ordered the Midway to put N-5 under medical quarantine.
"During our investigations, Lieutenant Rey went missing. When located, she had mentally reverted to a child and ran off in a game of tag with one of the station's now child personnel. Before Security Chief Nagano and I could pursue, we were suddenly confronted by a mysterious red cloud of gas..."

"Captain's Log: Stardate 3442.7
"After evading the cloud entity on Station N-5, Lieutenant Nagano and I learned through the main computer that it had been extracted from L-1831 against its will and was used by Dr. White in her experiments. It somehow broke loose and began turning the station's inhabitants into children in revenge. After attempting to communicate with it verbally, the entity attacked me and transformed me into a teenager; while I had my memories and most of mental faculties, they were trapped in a hormone-filled body stuck between boy and man.
"Science Officer T'Lor and I eventually found Dr. White, who like her colleagues had been turned into a child. With the forced assistance of the entity, she had discovered two serums, one that might cure the affliction and one that would mean certain death. After a struggle, the entity subdued the doctor and through a mind meld T'Lor discovered the cure. I volunteered to test it and was returned to my normal self.
"With Dr. Thalla's assistance, all station personnel were returned to normal physically, however their mental states aren't fully restored likely due to their prolonged states as children. Unfortunately, Navigator Melodie Rey also suffers from the same condition and will be transferred along with the station's personal to a proper medical facility..
"...I wonder if such a full restoration is possible. It is, after all, hard enough to grow up once..."
