"Captain's Log: Supplemental
"Our mission to deal with Solanae incursions was interrupted by Voth Grand Marshal Siyi, who reported experiencing similar abductions among hostile forces. The grand marshal wished to pool our forces to draw the Solanae back into the sphere to capture their ships and crew. After I added the condition of a 48 hour cease fire in the contested zone, Siyi grudgingly agreed. Obelisk 1's rift core, installed on the crippled starship Resolute, was powered up and a Solanae Obelisk appeared via a subspace rift. The Avalon and Siyi's ships engaged them and we brought the Obelisk's captain and bridge crew aboard, securing them in the brig modified by Commanders Fearos and Maus with an environment suitable for solanagen-based life forms. The Voth crippled the Obelisk and the rift core was jettisoned from the Resolute for them to recover while the Avalon is en route back to the 146th's spire.
"After consultation, the Klingon Empire and Romulan Republic have agreed to honor the temporary cease fire and for the moment the Voth are complying, as well. The Solanae prisoners remain in the brig, however the universal translator has yet to enable us to communicate with them. That the Voth were willing to parlay, let alone to concede to a brief respite in our conflict is promising.
"Furthermore, Admiral Starsinger and I agree that Centurion Vrainak Noxius should be put in charge of the 146th's spire, if for no other reason than to grant him the authority to deter...unwanted guests..."

"Captain's Log: Stardate 89952.7
"Commander Susissai Arbriel-Kell of the starship Exodus turned over the results of her correspondence with the Voth informant code-named Deep Throat. Until recently he was a member of the Voth Circle of Archaeology and the results of his studies have revealed disturbing information about the Dyson Sphere, its purpose, and why it was abandoned. Tens of thousands of years ago, there was a major accident, which resulted in the interior of the sphere being bombarded with lethal doses of tetryon radiation. Those Solanae who survived fled into subspace, possibly mutated by the radiation to the point where they became solanagen-based and thus unable to live in this universe. Furthermore, the Voth have discovered that when fully activated, the sphere's Omega generators on the inside will begin moving the particles to collection points along the exterior. For what purpose, they don't know, but it doesn't take much to guess why.
"And the damndest thing is that the Voth don't care. All of Deep Throat's warnings were ignored and after he persisted further, he was dismissed from the Circle of Archaeology. The Voth are hell-bent on reactivating the Sphere, which could either result in another tetyron radiation burst and all our deaths. Or worse. Deep Throat's still spying on his former colleagues but if the Voth leadership find out he's been in contact with the commander, his life will be in jeopardy. He's told us what his people are up to, but we still don't know how close they are to unleashing a potentially galactic-wide cataclysm.
"I'll be reporting our findings to Joint Allied Command and Starfleet soon. Stopping the Voth just became all the more critical..."

"Captain's Log: Supplemental
"The Avalon was attacked by Voth forces led by High Inquisitor Oggra, who blamed us for the recent illness that has rendered Grand Marshal Siyi comatose. The ship was severely damaged in the battle however Klingon forces under the command of General Karag came to our defense. Then the Voth broke off their attack following an explosion aboard the Fortress ship, lending credence to my theory that Siyi was the victim of an attempted assassination on Oggra's part for agreeing to last week's cease fire. The Voth have pulled all of their forces out of the Allied and Contested Zones and I've ordered our task force to continue monitoring the situation.
"Unfortunately, the Avalon's battle damage necessitates dry dock time at the Utopia Planitia Yards in orbit of Mars back in the Alpha Quadrant. Once warp capability is restored, we'll proceed through the gate tomorrow and head home for repairs and refitting. Engineering estimates the Avalon will be ready to return to duty in approximately three weeks..."

"I'm well into my second day at the New Las Vegas holohotel on Earth, roaming the Caribbean Sea as an ancient pirate circa the early 18th Century. This ship, which the program for whatever reason decided to dub the Magpie, is far different than the Avalon beyond the obvious technological gap. Naturally, the Starfleet book on how to do things was tossed overboard. Just wish I could get used to the taste of rum.

"Word has reached me that Subcommander Karis Xereth, formerly attached to the 146th's Dyson Sphere spire and even more briefly the Avalon, has admitted that she's a Tal Shiar agent and surrendered herself to the Romulan Republic pending an asylum hearing...assuming the Republic lets it get that far. Admiral Martin has invoked all the appropriate safeguards and with the Avalon still over a week away from launch, I've canceled the remainder of my vacation and am taking the Excalibur back to the Solanae Sphere to investigate the matter personally. She's burned a lot of people with this, both professionally and personally. And if my investigation on the sphere proves fruitless, I know of a certain Romulan general on Deep Space 9 who might shed some light on this...

I can't help but feel for him; after my...parting with Clarie, I too know what it's like to find out the woman I love above all else is affiliated with something morally reprehensible. While Xereth is in Republic custody, I'm going to do my damndest to let her know how offended we all are...
"And I just hope Fearos doesn't kill Commander Quinteros for stripping all the non-Federation modifications to the Avalon out in favor of Starfleet spec. Lord knows there's enough people in this man's Starfleet who want to claw each others eyes out and for legitimate reasons, to boot..."

"Upon the Excalibur's arrival at the 146th's Spire, I learned that the prisoner Karis Xereth went missing after a prisoner transfer to a Romulan vessel posing as a Republic warbird. After all parties involved scrambled to try to figure out how to recover her, she contacted the Excalibur. She offered a deal: myself and Commander Kayla Black of Starfleet Intelligence would take a shuttlecraft to a rendezvous point she would send after our departure. Needless to say, I have a lot of trepidation about this, but for now there's no other alternative. She claims to have information about a potential bomb somewhere in the Beta Ursae Sector Block, possibly fueled by Omega. Commander Black and myself are en route aboard the shuttlecraft Bedevere while the Excalibur is returning to Utopia Planitia to dock with the Avalon. Based on the coordinates Xereth gave us, we should reach her some time tomorrow..."

"Captain's Log: Stardate 90002.6
"I find myself only now reporting the events of the past day or so, if for no other reason that said events only now have stopped being piled upon my lap. Commander Black and I spent the past day heading to the rendezvous coordinates sent by Karis Xereth only to find a derelict T'Liss-class warbird in the Romulus system with instructions of how to contact her along with data about the attack she previously warned us about. However, before the commander and myself were to return to the Solanae Sphere to meet with Xereth, she got there first and proceeded to commit acts of violence that were finally ended via a telepathic link with Colonel Starsong of the Illarian military.
"However, upon Commander Black and my arrival, there was enough suspicion swirling around Xereth that few if anyone had it in them to trust her, let alone trust that Admiral Martin was of sound mind and body in expressing his trust in her. And yet, she claims that the forthcoming interstellar conference in the Bajoran system in three weeks time is the target of True Way terrorism sponsored by the Tal Shiar. Admiral Martin is scheduled to be among the delegates from across the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, along with the Cardassians, the Bajorans, the Deferi, the Klingon Empire, and the Romulan Republic. Xereth has outlined a means of thwarting this attack, but given her past activities, I'm not inclined to trust her word completely. I know the Tal Shiar all too well; it's a chess game with them. Move and counter move. I've recommended Commander Black become Xereth's handler, a job I know she's capable of handling. If anyone can utilize her effectively against this new threat, I know she can.
"I'll be returning to the Alpha Quadrant sometime tomorrow. Just need to...get some things settled here at the Spire first...
"Captain's Personal Log: Supplemental
"I'm really worried about the effect Karis is having on the people I know. She in the past has shown herself to be a master manipulator and by her own admission tried to use her telepathic powers on Kayla after they shared a few drinks some time ago. Both Jim and Sindari seem willing to forgive her whole-heartedly and take her at her word. Vrainak on the other hand refuses to trust her. While I'm willing to let Kayla look into the intel she's provided, my trust in her word lies solely in the veracity of her information. I just wish I can make Admiral Martin see that he needs to keep her at arms length rather than embrace her before we know once and for all she can be trusted. For all we know, we're all just playing into the schemes of her Tal Shiar superiors. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me...
"No, strike that last. I'm tempted to invoke the famous words of my mother's older sister: 'I never forgive and I never forget.' Well, we'll see, won't we? Jury's still out on Karis' lover S'Taev and if Vrainak's reaction is any indication, I doubt we'll ever be seeing him on the Spire again..."

"Recorded under security code Alpha 1.
"The Avalon's been put on point for the potential terrorist attack at the forthcoming interstellar conference. Cover story is that Admiral Martin and I had a falling out so my ship was kicked out of the sphere...which admittedly almost became the honest truth. I still am unwilling to trust Xereth completely; maybe Clarie leaving me under circumstances similar to S'Taev's parting with Karis is clouding my judgment, but then again, I still don't trust S'harien or D'Llhran, either.
"No, that's not it. That was months ago, before the Avalon entered the Sphere in the first place. Only corroboration of Xereth's story so far is that S'harien told Vilaina that there is or was a program run by the Tal Shiar to weaponize Omega. So now we wait for Commander Black to get actionable intelligence out of Xereth or hope that a third source surfaces. Having those two being our only source of information about this potential attack doesn't sit well with me..."

"Captain's Log: Supplemental
"Acting under warnings from space station Deep Space 9, the Avalon proceeded to the Deferi border to monitor activity by True Way ships in possible connection to the conspiracy former Tal Shiar agent Karis Xereth warned the fleet about. Two True Way ships rendezvoused with a Breen vessel and a Tal Shiar warbird. According to the communications we intercepted, this conspiracy is much larger than we imagined. In addition to a possible attack in the Bajoran system, this conspiracy also involves a coup on the Imperial Romulan aligned planet Garid and an attempt on the life of Klingon Chancellor J'mpok. We know the names of two of the conspirators: Gul Tarel of the True Way and Thot Pran of the Breen, the same flag officer who was a high-level commander during the Dominion War. Unfortunately, the only other information on the particulars of this conspiracy we have are nicknames. A 'General' who has a grudge against the leader of the Klingon High Council, a 'Senator' on Garid who faces removal and/or assassination, and someone called 'The Marshal' who is orchestrating the whole thing. We also know the Tal Shiar is moving supplies to the True Way for the attack, something that will conceal whatever their weapon is from detection.
"The Avalon is continuing on her patrol to avoid arousing the suspicions of anyone who might be monitoring us. We'll arrive at Starbase 146 at 1500 hours headquarters time tomorrow where I've asked to meet with Admirals Martin, Starsinger, and Commander Black to brief them on the situation and strategize our next move. The Avalon and her crew may be the best in Starfleet, but she's only one ship and one crew. We could be facing the might of the Romulan Empire, the Breen Confederacy, and multiple extremist groups all arrayed against the United Federation of Planets and frankly, we can't take this...pact on alone..."
